Another Lovely Afternoon here on the Isle of Wight, a bit more breezy than of late and also a little cooler too. Apart from that the sun is out with hardly a cloud in the sky! Temperature 17:6'c Wind : 0.7mph from the NE Max temp 17.6'c

I was meant to post this the other day, someone had captured this house get struck by Lightning in Newport the other day too :O

I have recently began a new hobbie, I have become really into photography nad taking photos of the weather, the isle of wight in genreal and a lot of scenic sort of photos! So heres a few of the best ones I have captured over recent months!

Unfortuenatly i failed to capture lightning, but the one that got that one captured a fair few. When the 8 am storms arrived after this early mornings one, the sky was that dark it was like night time again and every single flash and fork of lightning was visible! I will upload my pictures of the storms in a bit too, im gonna try and upload a video of the rain we had aswell

I have a couple on my phone, but didnt catch lightning. However my friend that i was with watching it with, did capture quite few lightning strikes. I did a couple of videos of the early morning storm, of the torrential rain and also i got a video with a flash just in the background Needa find out how i can get videos on here

Urm wow, we have been spoilt here on the Isle of Wight this morning! What a morning it was, I havent seen thunderstorms like that in a long time!, All started with our own storm that was on us from 4:15am til about 6:30am, that one was a beast! And the MCS in the channel decided to be kind and hit the IOW full on from around 8am, I had been hearing distant the thunder getting closer and closer all before it arrived! We took a drive upto Ventnor downs this time to position ourselves, we didnt know which way to look because there was lightning and thunder coming from every angle possible! I literally had butterflies i was that excited LOL! The rain started about 5 minutes into us being up there, and then got back in the car, lucky we did because there was and unbelivable flash and instant bang! I never heard thunder or seen lightning so close in my life. I said that in the car and then the next one was literally even closer, it was that close the thunder was the same time as the lightning, the car and everything shook, we saw the lightning hit a tree right infront of us! There was another 3 strikes that close to us after that, ive never heard anything like it, it was deafening, was an amazing experience! The thunder and lightning carried on for another 2 hours, just looked like there was no end in sight :O We even had hail, and saw some amazing anvil crawlers and multi Lightning strikes too! What a start to summer!

Get in there! First proper thunderstorm of the year and what a beast! One of the best storms ive seen for a long while, some of the lightning strikes was some of the best ive seen for a good while! The storm lasted for a good 2 hours, along with another one throw in it! Its still rumbling away in the distance as i speak now!

Just keeps snowing and snowing and snowing! Been like it again since 00:30am

Snow settling really easy now, constant steady moderate snow falling, got some pretty big drfits about, some up to 10 inches to a foot deep, level snow here though just coming upto about a cm Lovelyyyyy

Snow is really beginning to pick up! bitterly bitterly cold out!

Well that was a lovely suprise earlier, had 2 types of wontry showers, first one was a heavy soft hail and snow shower Then the 2nd was just proper snow, with lovely big flakes and then as it moved away there was a flash of lightning and distant rumble of thunder too

Absolute lovely day today, went for a walk earlier, it really does feel pleasant and quite warm in that sunshine. Its almost wall to wall sunshine, with a few patchy bits of cumulus, along with a little breeze. Lovelyyy Temperature: 10.5c with a high today of 11.6c

Finally got some sunshine out, still rather breezy out but its good to see for now. I see that low is still there for friday, could be an interesting little thing, definatly going down the sea front jobby and seeing high tide Another mild one out there today, temperatures at 10.4c

Thats a nasty little low for friday :o would be interesting to see what kinda wind speeds would be recorded if it came off, very interesting indeed Anyway now have just had some moderatre to heavyish rain pass through, still raining now but only! Very blustery out there but at the same time it feels really mild out there today :o Temperature: 11.4c Dewpoint: 11.2c Wind speed: 28mph Rainfall: 11.4mm Overnight low: 10.0c

Been a very very windy evening here, easily getting to gale force along with rain on and off aswell!

Well the main band of rain has now arrived, which came in very very quick, the wind has really picked up alot in the past hour! Gusting to almost or just over 40mph already! Rain is rather quite heavy aswell now! Temperature 9.0c

Really need too start posting more! Some really interesting weather by the looks of it moving in later, quite looking forward to the possibility of gales and heavy rain, my try and get some high tide footage if i can this afternoon or this evening depending on the time, I suspect waves most definatly be coming over the sea wall again. anyway currently got some ligh rain on and off at the monent , keeping an eye out to all that stuff out to the west
