  2. Storms now fireing north of Tulsa and south west of memphis heading north east.
  3. A couple of storms have fired up in central Illinois. none of those weather radios are working for me, So i have compliled a list of ones that do work i couldn't find springfield, MO only in IL haha Memphis, TN: http://audiostream.w...Memphis.mp3.m3u Damascus, North Little Rock, AR: http://audiostream.w...amascus.mpg.m3u Tulsa, OK: http://audiostream.w...m/Tulsa.mp3.m3u Im listening to Damascus as im typing, its got alot of information i want a NOAA radio!!!
  4. if i had to guess where a tornado may occur i think north east Arkansas between Harrisburg and Cherry Valley in Poinsett county or a little bit south just north west of memphis in Crittenden county.
  5. The map is based on E/F3+ tornadoes with more then 20 mile paths. that doesn't include tornadoes out in open country. which i forgot to add. which is pretty biased but everyone thinks of a tornado alley as being a place where the most violent tornadoes occur but as this map of 2009 shows the whole of the eastern side of the US is basically one big tornado alley. every recorded tornado in 2009 is in this map from TornadoHistoryProject.com. its a good website it shows tornado scale aswell as the width and length of the damage path, and can be assembled into a tavle. note: you can look at each individual day of the year all the way back to 1950!!! and i agree that there could be a mini tornado alley in washington state.
  6. i say 20c will be broken in mid march. 25C in late april. 30C in early July.
  7. No but those evening thunderstorms would last untill it starts cooling down when it gets dark which would be much later then it would be now allowing storms to keep there power.
  8. Here is a render I have come up with using Google Earth of each alley.
  9. So we all know about tornado alley and pretty much everyone knows about Dixie alley right? now they have found two more 'tornado alleys' Hoosier alley stretching from north Tennessee though Kentucky, indiana, Ohio and southern Michigan. Carolina alley is the smallest only stretching between north and south Carolina Hoosier is third most active behind tornado and Dixie alley and Carolina is 4th respectively. They have found the strongest and deadliest tornados occur in Dixie alley but tornado alley has more tornados but less Powerful ones followed by Hoosier and Carolina alleys. What new alleys will they find? Typing this on a iPhone is long!!!! Lol
  10. It would be weird in summer when its still light at 11pm...! but i wouldnt mind it tbh i like getting up on winter mornings in the dark.
  11. I think if we where landlocked with france and spain we would fare alot better with the weather in general. I saw some great convection the other day but it didn't do much apart from making some fluffy clouds. i think we didn't get much in the way of thunderstorms last year because they where being saved for this year.
  12. Mesoscale here just with a name change so not +1 person haha! from the 18th August to the 5th September my parents and family have just booked a family reunion in florida. Family from Italy and Pittsburgh, USA will be there so I cannot go between those dates as I haven't seen them in over 10 years and 20th sept+ I start university. anywhere up to the 16th august im up for it maybe later if the weather isn't playing ball or what have you.
  13. You can never get an EF6 tornado as it would be still classed as an EF5, and an EF5 winds are 250mph+ now as they found that 250mph was more then enough to do F5 damage.. A powerful hurricane/cyclone/typhoon will do more damage over a wider area but a tornado will do more damage with in a small area.
  14. 14+ days of thunder a year on average? the last couple of years has been less then 5 with last year having a miserable 2 days of 'thunder heard'
  15. oh wow! that looks mental, i was only 2 when that was filmed!!!! its his fault we haven't had any decent storms he said it was enough lightning for 2 decades! !!!
  16. Has anyone got any links to lightning strikes in the past 10 years?
  17. I thought staying away from this thread would help get some more snow in buts it is exactly the same as if I had stayed on it haha! ill join you on that midwest holiday BrightinBrighton!
  18. 2 Days of thunder if you can really call it that, in early spring we had one tiny clap of thunder I did see the lightning and I literally ran for the back door but I was very disapointed by the lack of bass in the thunder plus it wasn't very deep but thunders thunder ay? Either early august or september I could hear some thunder in the distance but it didn't get very close and I didn't see any lightning from the dark cloud. Lack of thunder last year was vey disapointing but Mexico made up for it after we had a whole night of thunderstorms and the 3 consecutive days after was just torrential rain nonstop for 72 hours.
  19. Since I am not coming on he chase this will be the closest I can get! can't wait.
