Can Buxton have its own forum? Put it in with Scotland or something
-
Top streamer moving south too.
-
Doesn't look as bad as the storm that passed through yesterday. I'd like that to come off to record a few decent gusts.
Looks a damn site worse to me.
-
There seems to be 2 streams setting up, one running south east from the coast of Cumbria and the other South east through Blackpool and Southport etc.
-
If the 12z verifies then next friday could be frightening.
-
Are you classed as NW England then?
Saddleworth is Oldham, so yes.

-
There is a meaty looking shower heading down through Fleetwood now in this direction.
-
I am expecting more showers with a Westerly.
-
Had everything here so far, dark clouds above now.
-
There is a nice streamer setting up, through the top of Preston and right at me.
-
Some beefy showers heading our way, could be fun today.
-
Certainly the strongest of the day here now.
-
Showers definitely more westerly now, would not take much movement to be right in the firing line rather than catching the edges.
-
Heavy snow shower here.
Yeah i had that ten minutes before your post.
-
Snowing moderately here now.
We have the lightest dusting on cars and pavement, welcome winter 2011/2012 to the proceedings.
-
not much margin for error but i think that thin band now down the west cumbrian coast has got my name on it.

Hey Guys....in Linthwaite (nr Huddersfield) at around 150m. Not got access to the snow radar....any chance for me tonight?
Similar to me, quite high i reckon.

i have seen thoise warnings countless times before in situations like this and woke up to plain old concrete when i opened the curtains.
i was planing a late 1 but i dont think i will be tbh.
I play these occasions on merit HD and my gut tells me we could have snow in my area by 7pm tonight.
-
yes my expectations have been downgraded through the day i dont think i will have any lying snow come daylight, although i expect to see wintry showers tomorrow.

Yep, hopefully once the trough passes through they will start to become more organised again. On my iPhone at the minute, can't really access the GFS properly, too much effort. Are the showers starting to take more of a SE'erly track now as the flow is becoming more NW?
On rain today they seem to be squeezing through from N Ireland,W Scotland in the nw direction.
-
Looks like the Irish Sea has ran out of steam for now. Would love the cloud to clear for a while to allow temperatures to tumble!
Looks to be pepping up from a more northerly track.
-
Im afraid you can't have everything
From North easterlies the west barely gets a look in
Luckily my location does well from north westerlies and north easterlies
Rain Today showing beefy showers moving into the North west heading towards East Lancashire and West Yorkshire, my money with the cold creeping south and nightfall temp drops is on Snow.
