  1. Hi everyone. Slightly alarmed to read all this doom and gloom talk this morning. Can anyone offer a glimmer of hope beyond next weekend? Whole of my family are in Cornwall for the week and feel like from reading the forums this morning we’re going to spend most of our time battening down the hatches and staring into the abyss!! Is this a LP that’s going to stall over us or can we at least take some hope that it will rattle through and we have Sunshine and showers? (Or better still it heads a bit further north and we may get some Azores ridging).

  3. Is it me? (I do hope it is) but has the GFS gone 'off on one' this morning promoting a more Southerly Jet and the continuation of more unsettled weather? The ECM still holds firm with a significant improvement post weekend and into the following week, but as I say the GFS is having none of it? Would be interesting to hear peoples view on this and whether this could just be a blip by the GFS or could it be onto something? Let's hope not, as I for one am enjoying seeing those deep reds infiltrating our shores!
  4. Well said Shedhead. There is no quality I dislike more than those who feel the need to gloat....Up until today, we here in the SE have been stuck under a cloud of gloom, but bearing in mind how we get away with the lions share of the good weather down here, I was delighted for those in the west to get the best of the weather. All too often they get the lions share of the rain. (especially when I'm down there on holiday!!)
  5. OMG are we really back to doom and gloom. It seems like only yesterday we were all convinced the summer was about to re-introduce itself to these shores. It has, and probably will continue to be a summer of blandness. Nothing hideous (2007) or nothing scorching 2003/6) just very bland. Typified by the fact our air conditioner has been on only twice all summer. Even the last few years has seen it on a LOT more than that. Frustrating? Yes. Doom & gloom? Most certainly not. Just got to enjoy what we can, when we can.
