  1. Notice I put 'recovery' in inverted commas , I am well aware of that we are well below normal , I was merely just pointing out that now ice area is above 2009 , 2009 was above 2008 and 2008 was up on 2007 , I was just pointing out that alot of people are very misinformed and are saying this is the second lowest on record , we havn't been that low for well over a month now , you will notice everything I post is fact , more than can be said for alot of people on here.
  2. People saying this is the 2nd lowest ice area on record are obviuosly still looking at the charts from June. To be pedantic about it we are now above 2007, 2008, and now 2009, still very low I know , but the 3 year trend of 'recovery' continues Oh G.W , were did you get those charts above cant find them anywhere , would be interesting to have a look. It's ok , I found the site , only thing is there archives are gone down <_<
  3. No, I wouldn't thinks so. Sex on the brain!....
  4. I know this is off topic , but why joe laminate floori?
  5. Prob best to start looking at 2011 at his stage , lol
  6. June was defo 10/10 , july so far prob 3/10 but because of a couple of really good storms in the last couple of weeks ill bring it up to an overall total of 7/10. If GFS is right I might be increasing that in August!
  7. They were taken in Wexford , south east ireland. Somebody elses video of the funnel made the national news , wish I had posted my vid on youtube. I was lucky too see it , I was watching the lightning and I caught it in the corner of my eye , couldn't beleive it! Good luck everyone , although if you didn't get a storm in the last cuples of weeks it's not looking good , high pressure on the way and here to stay:unsure:
  8. Keep the hope , I got this on Wednesday: Your look can change , mine did! Brilliant thunder and lightning too! Keep the faith , LOL
  9. Sorry can you post ice thickness anomlie graphs, it's hard for the ordinary folk like me to know if the thickness shown in the above images is much below/above average?
  10. The thread was good only the frustration of no storms was unenjoyable. What a way to leave the club , best storm here in 9-10 years. I was spoilt with storms last year , that's what made it so frustrating. This thread made it a little easier though. Hope I won't be back next year. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! The wait just means those cracks , rumbles and flashes all the sweeter
  11. Yea I'm just posting to say I'm officially leaving the no storms club 2010 , absaloute stunner of a storm here last night in SE Ireland I can't say I enjoyed my stay here , but I wish everyone here good luck in following out of the club. Bye , until next year.
  12. Remeber the buzz when the first signs of northern blocking started to show at the start of December? Model thread was electric! Who did that forecast here on netweather last autumn , what a fantastic forecast , informative and CORRECT! Were can I find these long term forecast for NAO and AO , NOAA only forecast for a week or two ahead.
  13. LOL , this is a very confusing post , so are you sayin that AGW only effect oceans now , it doesnt effect land masses? How can the fact there is mountains there effect why the is alot more ice there than there was in the past? Can you explain this , I'm not comparing north and south , I'm asking why there has been such ice gains , in the last 30 years while northern hemisphere ice has deminished , the most logical awnser seem to be AMO + PDO , as these change ito negative phases we will prob see northern ice come back with a bang , and it will be time for the southern hemisphere ice to slowly diminish.
  14. If that's the case then , ice area and extent can't be used to say that there was big ice melt this year , which there was , but you cant have it both ways.
  15. Right ok, But can you awnser my question. You say that this slow in melt is due to a reversal in the wind direction. So is it also true that southerly winds compacted the ice , casuing the ice extent and area graphs to exagerate the ice melt? What else could be the cause since temperatures have been below normal up there for ost of the summer? And surely the ice was thicker this year than in 08 and 09? so that cant be the awnser.
  16. Thanks GW, But is this also true for earlier in the season when winds were the opposite , was the wind compacting the ice and hence totally exagerating the melt? Thanks , but I was just wondering was it along the same lines , as when the news shows pictures of ice melting , ok , but if its during the summer on the edge ice pack well then whats special about that? I was thinking along thos lines , you could go back to the ice age and see similar scenes fo melting ice. See what I mean?
  17. Hi , First post here . Just have a look at this please: Latest Ice Extent + Area It's a bit confusing , is that the ice refreezing? Also , I think it is a bit propoganda like to post pictures of where ice has melted. Which in all likelyhood is nothing out of the ordinary for the time of year , maybe all those posts should state what is extrodinary melt and what is not!
