A wind swept Anvil taken today in Hull, it sure made a change to see this formation after a very messy couple of days with lots of dullness/wetness.

Small hail and one thump of thunder here in Hull in last two mins.

@ Stewfox
The method i used was..
ISO 1600 - 2000
18mm wide open but will try a 50mm next at f2 to see if can get a better focus & detail..
15 - 10 seconds
tripod and remote
And lots of luck
I had to stay in the garden so all the pictures had that orange glow from all the city lights.

Hoping to have some clear sky's tonight and tomorrow night for the second flare,it would be fantastic to see this so far south and even to film/photograph it...we'll see eh.

Hi Andy
Well, from what i can make out, is that it forms from the dock but there is the river Humber that may play a part ?........ but i agree, it is fascinating how it all develops.

Hi
Iv been using the Microsoft H5D-00003 Lifecam Cinema Webcam by Microsoft for doing time-lapse vids and its not a bad little cam.
The vid below was shot at 800*800 but it does capture in HD Widescreen Video - 720p and is really easy to use and set up.
This was taken with the window open and does a fine job if the window was closed.....
