You never know, the wind might change a few degrees and blow it right down the Central belt, Think I'll put the snow shovel back in the shed all the same!- 789 replies

Just noticed this. A Cold Weather Health Watch system operates in England from the 1 November to 31 March every year, in association with the Department of Health. -

I suppose if the weather stays cold long enough we will qualify for as Amber alert. The wording is a bit unhelpful though - It shows probabilty of freezing conditions - 90% and just stops at the borders as if there is no cold at all above. -

Why does th METO not include any of Scotland in the Cold Weather Alert? Bishopton is reporting -2.1 at 22:00 - Gogarbank -2.5 and Aberdeen is -7.6. Is that not cold enough? -

Sean Batty said an increased risk of snow for the weekend, with a wee smirk on his face. -

Is Glasgow supposed to get some snow tonight? It doesnt feel cold enough! -
Very changeable indeed. Freezing, pouring, stormy, mild, snowing. The METO must be having a hard time of it.
-
Weird to see the current milder temperatures are followed by a blizzard warning tomorrow and Sunday.
-
A bit colder in Glasgow today than the METO predicted. Sky nice and grey/white. Feels like it might snow.
-
Cheers, so the warmer air sinks then.
