Some nice cloudscapes this afternoon despite, expectedly, pretty limited cloud heights due to lack of instability. Looks to be a better looking shower approaching here from the NW currently. Had a couple of light-moderate showers a short while ago interspersed with some lovely sunshine, so not all bad.
Hope Windypants is time lapsing these showers - a nice looking one to my NW at the moment.
I started to... but i've got my rainbow head on now
Theres a lovely one across the city as we speak
lots of good looking showers heading our way from the NW
Should have something to share by Sundown.

1st real use of a remote Intervalometer ( a brilliant piece of kit, for less than £20 off e-bay)
Hopefully the music adds to it

Just plain old rain I'm afraid. Chance of weak thunderstorms reserved for northern UK tomorrow - particularly northern and eastern Ireland and over into Scotland where the coldest upper air will be. Could be some decent size hail in any stronger cells that can develop over those regions tomorrow.
Thanks W09
Informative as ever
I'll put my camera away then:good:

Nice pic! Think that might have been the same shower that passed just to my NE a short while ago - were some nice looking rain curtains.

If i'm correct the black line in the image below is around about where the heaviest precip was forecast. As you can see the bulk has gone a bit further South which I think the 18z NAE predicted. Also, heavy band has gone further North than predicted. Earlier, most of the rain was forecast to be South/East of Cardiff but it seems some has gone North/West.
Heavier rain just starting to the south of Brum as it moves across the country

couple of grains of uncooked rice in the pots will help your salt problem

Top of a mountain?
Plane punchhole?
Makes scenes, plenty of mountains in that area
Is that the cause of the visible turbulence holes? in the clouds to the west?
Mind you love the idea about the impressive Cb with some rotation
