  1. Just had a confirmed lightning strike to the north of me. First one I've seen this year..
  2. Thanks, its a crop of a slightly larger picture from my phone. Its been an interesting afternoon, as everything seems to have missed me by a matter of miles.
  3. Another anvil heading towards the Trent Valley having just missed Doncaster.
  4. I'm on the Doncaster side, and I can see it, but I can't get a picture of it, as the top is hidden behind all the low stuff nearer me. It is a bit massive. Got anvils on 3 sides now, but the ones to the east are a bit further off.
  5. Just a few cloudy pics taken on my phone about a quarter of an hour ago... Both large clouds are approx 40 miles away, somewhere near the east coast... Been really impressive in terms of rainfall today though.. Rob.
  6. Just hit Doncaster. Tipping it down with rain, but thats about it.
  7. Yet about 16 miles to the west, there is nothing but tepid blandness [a statement which could quite accurately describe parts of Doncaster pretty well].
  8. I'm about 15 miles to the west of you, its clouded over, and theres a particularly mucky looking cloud over Doncaster.
  9. Just issued a poor weather warning on local news for North Norfolk and South Lincolnshire. Reckon heavy rain, but looking at whats been popping up today, there may be a shout of something interesting.
  10. I'd say its a little bit further north of you, but not that far.
  11. It appears to be South Yorkshire bound, although I can't be sure whether its going to hook east of Doncaster and head up the Trent Valley, like a few storms have done in the past.
  12. Its worse here, we're about three feet above sea level at home, so get no snow at all when it drops, although, I do get to see the big storms screaming off the Peak District in the distance every now and then, and we had a lovely one up the Trent Valley last year as well, about ten miles east of me. You're going to hate this, but that bright pink splodge thats currently over Mansfield appears to be heading for my neck of the woods..
  13. It seems to happen a lot in Nottingham though, I've lost count of the amount of times I've sat and watched the clouds building up the Trent Valley from the SW and they've conspired to miss me in Carlton by a matter of miles.
  14. Looks like Mansfield or Sutton is getting a drenching at the moment..
  15. Seems to be a big cloud front swinging round on a point somewhere over central Lincolnshire. Got a friend in Lincoln whos reporting severe rain at the moment, we're just getting constant drizzle at the moment.
  16. Just have done. The majority of the cloud has passed to the east of me now.
  17. That would be the dark cloud that is heading northwards from Doncaster towards Hatfield and Thorne at the moment then. Its got dark here in the last 25 minutes or so, even though about 3 or 4 miles to the west its clear as a bell.
