Good luck to you westeners (well west from me anyway) a bit sleety here. Cars, roofs etc have a dusting, but nothing on pavements, roads etc. I had a good fall of snow last Saturday/Sunday. so I hope the ones of you who missed out get something good tonight.

How long is the snow period supposed to last on Saturday evening?

I told my 4 yr old it might snow and we can go sledging on Sunday if we are lucky. He said to me, my friend at school said you should never eat YELLOW snow. But why daddy? I did not have the heart to tell him, thats were dogs have weed!

I just received a tweet from BBC London Weather. It said snow in E London tomorrow night. More over the weekend..... Ps my wife thinks I'm having an internet affair with some hotty. I then showed her what I was looking at (Netweather), and she called me sad..... Get back to wathing Coronation Street Mrs.....haha (Watching that tripe is SAD)

This is getting to addictive. Ive spent more time on Netweather today, than I have worked...

Lets just go back 6 weeks or so ago...... We had SW winds, no hints of snow, a raging PV, and no sign of anything cold. Now look what we have: Freezing Temps The PV has gone on holiday A big snow risk for the weekend, maybe a little taster before if we are lucky The Atlantic not having an influence for the forseeable future Possibility of cold/very cold weather until maybe NEXT weekend Come on guys lets just chill, and see what happens. Snow is one of the hardest weather types to forecast, so there maybe some upgrades and maybe some downgrade, but our chances of snow are are very high indeed..

So from what I have been reading, the snow potential is from Saturday evening until Sunday afternoon, with that front coming in from the west. But there will be no front's moving in from the East bring the risk of any streamers? Is that pretty much what to expect?

Dont have a weather station, so just took the car for a drive to get a temp reading (not accurate by any means) but it says 0.5.

Thats if it reaches us though! There is talk about the front fizzling out before it reaches the E/SE
