  1. We are having a very rainy start of June in mainland Italy, especially on the Tyrrhenian side. Temperatures for now are close to the 81/10 average or slightly lower in some regions, such as Calabria.
  2. I point out the 30 C yesterday in Podgorica and also in mainland Italy the temperatures have risen, due to the sirocco winds
  3. An extremely rainy May in peninsular Italy is coming to an end, especially in the eastern regions... Thermally it was a normal month, referring to the average 81/10 and in general spring 2023, with ups and downs, was thermally average. I point out the strong heat in Tbilisi, Georgia, today, with 30 C and the high temperatures of the Montenegrin coast
  4. The tragedy of the flood in Emilia Romagna was truly terrible...many victims (mainly the elderly) and serious material damage. But all of Italy is geologically very fragile... This May 2023 in some areas is the wettest of the historical series, while thermally it is slightly cooler than the average 81/10 but not exaggeratedly like May 1995, May 2004, May 2019. Instead, I see the very different situation in the Portuguese Algarve, where a very hot and dry spring continues
  5. It is an extremely rainy month of May in peninsular Italy, in many areas it is the rainiest since 2004
  6. Until now it has been a very variable May in mainland Italy, alternating cooler days with others with temperatures around 25°C. However, from the middle of the month a more stable and warm or hot phase could begin.
  7. Few news in the next few days in peninsular Italy, temperatures will be slightly above average, especially in the Tyrrhenian regions but it will only be hot in Sardinia and there will be the possibility of abundant rainfall, especially in inland areas.
  8. The violent heat wave that is expected for the next few days in Spain and Portugal will also affect Italy but in a more attenuated way. April 2023 is turning out to be cool in mainland Italy, it will probably be the coolest since 2001 or 1997, depending on the area and it is the first month cooler than the average of 81/10 since March 2022
  9. Yesterday the cold phase ended in mainland Italy and from today the temperatures will rise again, widely exceeding 20 C already on Thursday 13
  10. It is a cold Easter in mainland Italy but it is not so unusual, in a strongly peninsular climate like the Italian one, which has "late" seasons and depends a lot on what is happening in the southern Balkans. Yesterday the snow level in Campania dropped to 600 meters, as at Easter 1995, 2001 and 2008. Happy Easter to all of you and your families!
  11. It is very cold at the beginning of this April in Italy, with snow also in the cities of the high hills of the south
  12. Holy Week will be relatively cold in Italy, especially on the Adriatic regions.. the opposite of last year
  13. It was a warm but not excessively hot March in peninsular Italy, on the contrary it had cool moments and it was relatively cold in the southern Balkans
  14. It's a very variable March so far, initially cold, then rather hot but in the end the cold could return in the southern Balkans and most likely also in a part of Italy
  15. After a couple of cold days (mostly in the southern Balkans), next week there will be a clear increase in temperatures, especially in southern Italy and Sicily, with temperatures widely above 22/23 C
  16. The spring heat has arrived in peninsular Italy in the last few days ... 22 degrees in Pescara and Rimini, 23 in Bari
  17. This very rainy phase continues in peninsular Italy, with lots of snow in the mountains. In recent days it has also snowed heavily in the Algerian Atlas and yesterday in the mountains of Bosnia. From Tuesday a rise in temperatures is expected in peninsular Italy, due to the sirocco winds.
  18. March starts quite cold and rainy in mainland Italy... Later we will see the final data for winter 2022/23 but it should have been the warmest fourth, according to the first data.
  19. The winter of 2022/23 will probably be among the 4/5 warmest on the Italian peninsula, especially due to December
  20. The last days of February will be very mild in Italy with over 20 C in the south, including Naples.
  21. This is a mild winter in Italy but while the first part was exceptionally warm, it has been colder since January 15, especially in the Adriatic regions.
  22. After the end of the cold wave, mainland Italy and the southern Balkans are now experiencing an anticyclonic phase
  23. These are very cold days in mainland Italy... Monday, February 6, 2023, it snowed on the beach of Crotone (Calabria Iónica), it had not happened since January 2017
  24. The cold finally arrives in mainland Italy, it will be the main cold wave since January 2019
