Dont worry about Sunday look out of the window its snowing good :-)
Hi 80 weather it has picked up but we would have been getting more totals from Sundays then we are due out of today's front. : )
-
Wait for 12z GFS, you may be pleasantly surprised :winky:
Being in the north west from Cambridge we are quite flat but even watching latest forecast has the band going east of Cambridge and into Peterborough and all easten regions. Just not west.
-
Well a huge downgrade for me on Sunday now just got met update and although all coast and Cambridge itself and Peterborough anything west of Cambridge are out in the cold : (
-
I took a peak on the netweather chart and even that says we have very little through the night. But good outlook for Sunday.
-
Already I can tell the conditions are perfect for accumulating snow. Despite the very light snowfall here you can see this quickly settling on surfaces. The dewpoints across the region are around -4C which is excellent. The snow on Monday was wetter in nature due to higher dewpoints.
For those members in Peterborough we need to keep an eye on the area of heavier snow around the Northampton area. This could hit us in around 2hrs time.
Hi TEITS as I'm not all clued up on the charts does the pivoting work in our favor or take the snow further ne.
-
yep thats y i didnt bother,lol
Makes you laugh a few cm s of expected snow although not garenteed and their talking of school closures.
-
Omg! Huntingdons snow shield has disappeared very light snow.
-
Thought we had a tiny bit of rain as car wet but looked on bin lid and there's a few grains on it.
-
Just received an email from my daughters school found it rather funny.
Should the condition of the weather deteriorate we will contact you via- email or text regarding school closure.
-
So frustrating, I live near canbridge and had barely anything compared with the rest of the country, everything seems to stall and miss us either to the west or the east! Expecting about 2cm today at best
I think it's what you call the snow shield. Flat areas don't do as well
-
Too much already
Like the pic hope your ready for top ups. At least the west hasn't stolen all the snow.
-
Looks like the snow albeit will continue for much of the night in this region.

My current estimates are 2-5cm in the NE of this region, 7-10cm in the SW of this region. However it will all come down to luck and the radar.
Hi TEITS is it me or is it coming in a bit quicker then expected.
-
Just watched the forecast and it looks like Cambridge to Huntingdon st, Ives st, Neots up to sawty will have the snow shield up. While all other areas including Peterborough snow shield will be hibernatin. í ½í¸›

Thanx watched bbc east this morning and looks like we might do better on Sunday.
-
If this does move in quicker will that make a difference the amount we get
-
Morning all not so chilli today. Best places for snow will be se London and all along the coast from To Norfolk , areas to see little out of the next few days will be From south Cambridge up towards Peterborough and areas slightly more west.
-
Interestingly the Met Office forecast on the Met Office Home page as of midnight last night says that the snow will push all the way across to East Anglia although it may take its time and that it will be heavy at times.
How many times have the met got it wrong leading upto 24 hrs before the event when coming across from the Atlantic. Cast your mind back to 2010 we were issued amber warning 100% within 24 hrs , only to be down graded less then 6 hrs before it was meant to hit us. We got nothing not even a flake. Best way to look at this is to think its very unlikely that way you won't feel to disappoint.
-
No remains strong.
We are just seeing variations in the track and angle of the system to our W which makes a difference with the amount of precip.
Thank you. And as we all know things can and do change,
-
Interesting to see the NAE run, has to be a positive. I am expecting between nothing and something.
2010 comes to mind so not expecting anything. Apart from those further se.
-
Hi TEITS does that mean the cold block is weakening, sorry still learning.
-
For you at the coast, but this region has had some wonderful snow from the West.
South and slightly west always does best but the further north and slightly more east in east anglia miss most snow events. With a n/ e flow it either goes down the central band or clips the coast, I have known snow to come from the north go into pebo hit around sawty and dry further inland.
-
I'm not surprised with TEITS forecast. I replied to a post earlier in regards to the extent and felt it would turn out to be much similar to 2010 event.
-
Looking at the latest models looks like we are going to miss out not even going to get that far north. Repeat of 2010 for most of east anglia.
