Snow/wintry Precipitation Reports:- 28th February

we had snow sometime between 1am and 7am this morning here in morecambe bay. and as it had settled i took the opertunity to see how close to the coast the snow had reached, and was suprised to see isolated patches on the sand at half moon bay heysham. 5 miles west of lancaster. -
brief snow shower here in morecambe bay. there has been occasional light flurries of snow flakes since first light on an increasing wind. the skipton to lancaster train passed my window earlier covered in snow.

occasional light snow showers for morecambe bay from around 7am . but it is snowing at the moment, and settling.

just to confirm tws earlier report on snow in lancaster. we in morecambe bay had brief snow 8.30 to 9.00 am this morning. interesting to see that it was also snowing a few hundred yards from the sea at heysham 5 miles west of lancaster.

storm just off the coast at morecambe heading north east, plenty of lightning.

couple of rumbles of thunder here in morecambe bay. the storm cloud is passing to the north of lancaster heading north east. very breezy here but dry. -
thunder and lightning again here in morecambe bay. this time with heavy rain.

quite a few distant flashes of lightning off the coast here in morecambe bay. seem to be in the direction of the i.o.m.

thunderstorm here in morecambe bay . just passing north of lancaster.very warm and dry at the moment , but a fair amount of cumulus congestus,and convection this morning.

second storm of the day here. and this is so much bigger.flashes of between 1 to 4 per min and heavy rain. best storm ive seen in this area since 1981.

amidst all the excitment of the southern half of the country on the storms forum, for morecambe bay i can report hazy sun and a mixture of cirrus and cumulus clouds. breezy too, but unusually the wind is from the southeast. being only a couple of miles from the sea, our prevailing wind is an ever present westerly.

im slightly north and east of morecambe and weve had nothing here. just grey skies since mid afternoon.. no rain either ..
