Wow, you should share your weight loss secret and make a fortune!
Just back from a week on the east coast of Ibiza in Santa Eularia, so taking the opportunity to post a couple of pics - these are from Ibiza Old Town which is a UNESCO heritage site and lovely. Beware Ibiza's pickpockets if you take the bus; 2 people blocking your exit 'deep in conversation' are not oblivious but are enabling the pickpocket to get around Ibiza's tourists:( Ibiza otherwise was fantastic with no clubbing required;)
Back on topic, a warmish day with a lot of thick cloud cover, getting really hot when the sun peeks through. Does anyone else have small groups of little orange flying insects in their garden? Not sure what they are.
I'm quite a big guy so no surprise I lost 7lb on one week it will slow down a lot now and become harder to loose but I'm not easily defeated I feel much betterfor it already!. Im not massively over weight but I needed to shed some stonne!!
I've stopped eating carbs altogether albeit there are carbs in the meal replacement shakes I'm having for breko and lunch. I'm using protein works a brand suggested to me.
That looks amazing! We are going to San Antonio Bay. My first time in Ibiza! We are going to a wedding the day after we land.
We have been told to download an app for cabs and we have a private villa that we get looked after in as well

Hate to moan so early but wall to wall sunshine forecast today? Yeah right. How can forecasts be so wrong in the space of 12 hours. Been mostly cloudy and disappointing so far, with more and more clouds appearing out of thin air on the satellite too. Don't see where these clear skies are going to come from.
Wall to wall here... stunner of a day cant wait to get down the pub for a beer! Been a while... I am on a strict diet as going away to Ibiza in July.. Have lost 7lb in one week! Treat night tonight but staying harsh on the food side of things
beer.. Well. in this weather how can you not have one?!

Richmond about an hour ago apparently had torrents of water going down the roads.. while I was 10 miles up the M3 and completely dry and sunny
I saw the anvil on the storm that did go through Richmond quite a nice storm.

Thunder and lightning!!!!!! First surface based storm I've seen in quite a while!

Woke up at about 4am to some really intense rain.. no thunder though! Here is hoping for today! Good luck all
-
If low pressure did setup to East and we drag in some warm continental air than cold surely that could setup a thunderstom break out from the east.
Was it not a few years back we watched huge MCS storms form over the Netherlands and drifted East to affect us

Enjoy the warmth today, by the look of charts maybe a while before we hit the low 20s again
Met office has us at 21c next Saturday. Assume the met office models are hinting at a different setup.. to be fair all of next week we around 18-21c which given the time of year is bang on average
GFS as we all know has a tendency to over do low pressure and soemtimes struggles with high pressure location.
Be interesting to see how the next 2 weeks go and how the pan out. Could be quite cold given time of year for East Coast locations and northern areas...
Subject to change of course

we should start seeing initiation in next couple of hours but i do wonder if the high cloud is the issue with "CIN" ?
Just high level crud... nothing to worry about we are past heating now anyway won't make much if any difference
Been glorious here all day!

Right on time some nice showers forming ahead of the front pushing in from the west...

Only me the thunderstorm nutter in our house would sleep through not 1 but 2 storms last night with both windows open..
I cant sleep with the curtains open as my fiancé is epileptic so frequent lightning at night can very easily trigger a fit even when asleep
Just to rub it in my middle brother text me at 22:40 saying check out the storm.. Didn't wake up
Then my neighbour on my way to work said "did you see that epic storm at 4am"
Idiot...

Insane growing weather now.. I've got some bamboo shoots doing 3-6 inches a day!!

Apparently 2 storms here last night...
Slept through both

Some much welcome rain here. Been pretty much raining since about 10am
Some heavier bursts but nothing to special
-
Good to see a decent risk tonight.. First real "weather" in a long time apart from that rouge downpour a week or so back..
Channel is certainly very active I suspect people towards IOW will be seeing lightning soon..
-
Some storms them in the channel... I dont think many models handle last night to well. AROME not to bad...
Case over the next 24 hours of expect the unexpected I think. Could be storms pretty much anywhere along the south coast into our part of the world.
Later today and tonight does like more favourable than last night.. That said, I always compare thunderstorms to fishing.
You either blank and get nothing. Catch a few littles ones and miss the big one or you land the biggest fish of your life!

Yes, the lack of rain is starting to get worrying now. Yesterday's 'effort' managed to wet the pavements here, but that soon evaporated back to dry and was next to useless for plants. I've used the hosepipe twice on the garden so far this spring. Here's what Arpege and GFS suggest as cumulative rainfall up until midnight on Saturday 14th, so includes the rainfall expected later today.
Pretty much diddly squat.. which is surprising given how the radar looks...
-
Unbelievable.. You can taste the rain but it just wont budge south!
It barley looks like anyone AGAIN in our region will have any meaningful rain averages of 1-4mm! YAY! Look at places in the midlands and Wales.. they are going to get a proper 15+mm of rain today!
Never have I experienced a dry spring like this. Farmers must be praying.. Thankfully our little plant nursery is all able to be watered by hand and hose. Judging by the rifts and canyons in my lawn they must be really struggling!
Im hoping next week brings the first round of proper thunderstorms and downpours. Otherwise we are going to struggle to stay away from hose pipe bans. Plus the commons and heaths are now on Amber alert for wild fire risks in my area. Only last year Chobham Common went up in flames due to how dry and hot it was.

Strange seeing the low cloud move east to west while the higher upper cloud is moving in the opposite
