Such wonderful weather today, cant top 26.4C, got up to 24.8C, warm enough I'd say , and still a very pleasant 19.8C.

Are you interested in the weather and want to understand more about how it works?
We are considering developing an online general weather course and would appreciate your views. Please may we ask you to take just 10 minutes of your time to complete our online questionnaire, at:

Just driven through lots of heavy rain on way home from concert in London, nothing thundery but will be keeping an eye on the radar, must not be sitting up too late though.
-
Not really seen any of the gale force winds today, albeit it has been breezy. Rains much lighter now but looks to be more on the way in the next couple of hours, 11.5mm of rain so far. Glad it is going to be dry tomorrow as spending the day in London before going to a concert , then very wet on tuesday again.

I think the amber warning must be a mistake, otherwise it would be strange for them to have put it in just one county, plus wouldnt the south coast come off worst from something like this?MetO is giving the W Midlands an Amber warning compared to the rest of the SW of England having only yellow. Looks like being a very wet day indeed tomorrow, and potentially damaging winds.

Still a member of the no storms club unfortunately, seems Im destin for nothing but light showers, still time today for some more convection I guess.
-
Sorry to confuse you :LSorry above was for Anthonyb but appears Hughsey answered, am so confused, its not hard!...like speed67 would rather have this weather now than from June onwards, past couple of years April and may have been lovely then pants summer, let's hope that's reversed this year!
-
Few showers around today, no storms club remains though, glad to hear of people seeing storms though .
Hope you managed to dodge the showers for your walk, nothing worse than walking in rain
Is it weird that I quite like walking in the rain?
-
The Milton Keynes lightning shield must be firmly in place this year - the thunder and hail seem to be completely missing MK, at this rate we will be the only people left in the no storms club....but there will be a one heck of a party
same here MK, some rather heavy showers today but still no storms. Tomorrows a new day and all that.
-
Things looking pretty good, I want out of the no storms club! Best chance of the year so far today probably.
568k/kg CAPE and -1 LI seems pretty good, similar scenario for next few days too

Ahh Im in Sawtry and missed it , cool thoughFriday the 13th on the A1m in Cambridgeshire between Sawtry and Peterborough we saw a 'twister' in the sky.
A couple of other motorists stopped on the hard shoulder to take a picture, but I caught it on video with my iPhone.
You can see it on my youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3P2xjrrWaFU
I'm not entirely sure whether its a twister or a water spout - as looking at the map there is a large lake in the direction I filmed.
Anyway enjoy the video and did anyone else see it ?

Feels rather chilly today, hailing at the moment.
-
Had a heavy shower with a little hail in earlier, keeping an eye on the cells forming to my north west now, want to get out of the 2012 no storms club.
-
More and more lightning strikes being recorded across the UK, up to 100/hour now though only 1 in EA and a few in SE, thunderstorms are favourite weather type, but only ever seem to see them when Im in the states.
-
Seems to be way more showers around so far today than this time yesterday, would expect them to become more intense as the day goes on to. Missed a shower while I was in work, but looks to be plenty around.
-
Lots of convection on the radar, although nothing really in EA. Lovely day outside and am hoping to see a heavy downpour/thunderstorm sometime today or tomorrow, netweather forecast gives me a reasonable chance. Eyes on the radar.
-
Just rain and quite mild at 6 degrees at the minute, not even close to being marginal.
Should that area of red on the rainfall radar continue moving south? Would love to be under it just to get some proper rain.
-
Not excited about the snow prospects, been really enjoying the warm weather, had enough snow already this winter, didnt think I would be saying that
-
Nothing good in sawtry, no settling snow though some heavy bursts of snowIve heard reports on Facebook, thats its propper snow and settling around Pboro, and asfar down the A1 as Sawtry. Below that itssleet then rain. We have ad sleet in St Neots, but has turned back to just rain now.
-
Sleety snow here now for last ten minutes or so, more than I was expecting.
-
What sort of temps have people got? 5.6 degrees here and so obviously just rain, as I expect it to stay, sharp fall in temperatures lately though.
-
Lol I love snow as much as the next person, but I am enjoying this weather, and would actually rather it stayed reasonably mild now , judging by your FL chart posting it will stay this way for the foreseeable.
-
-8 degrees outside, wow!
-
Wow! -2.3 here at the moment, expecting between -6 and -10 widely tonight so some a serious ice risk tomorrow morning.-7 at 5pm is ridiculous! It never got above -1 all day and there are some impressive icicles about where the sun shone.

Charts looking good, can anybody tell me what sort of time showers should start to develop (if they do)? Thanks.
