Will any of the charts on the UKMO/ECM etc produce snow for edgbaston?

I seem to remember about 8cm falling here in Stourbridge on 2nd Feb 2009...may have been more. I'm quite low down compared to most of the Black Country so other areas did a lot better. Being directly to the west of a lrage urban area helped pep up those showers that day. We were due to get a load more from the south on the same day but that wasn't as intense here as forecast...the streamer from the east that morning helped us a lot seeing the main event was a bit of a bust. 18th December 2010 was miles better...as was 5th Jan 2010, neither were from easterlies like Feb 2009 though.
They were petty amounts compared to 87 and 91 by all accounts. I remember stupid amounts by the coast in Suffolk...particularly 87. From what I've heard and read it was pretty good here as well. Might go do some research on it now.
Oh yes Jan 2010 - how much did you get like 15cm. Same for 18th dec 2010?
-
So 1982 wasn't that special here then?
Interesting you mention 1987 and 1991, I was in the firing line of both in Lowestoft at the time. I never realised that a strong easterly could benefit here when I moved here 6 years ago...2nd Feb 2009 proved to me otherwise.
What was the depth of snow that fell in Birmingham on 2nd Feb 2009? Also what were the depths from the 1987 and 1991 snow events?

I would like to know what synoptics deliver in excess of 15cm of snow for Birmingham. If you could post some archive charts that would be nice. Thanks!

I think if the main band was just 30 miles west I would of had a good inch or two like Oxford had but there you go not even 1cm
-
hello , have been between the bands of snow this evening hence only around an inch here
aylesbury
bucks
Same, barely a cm - so much for 5-10cm
-
That's it for me, never believe a forecast again
-
What a shocking forecast
-
Haha, it's making my day this - apparently my mate talked to someone at the metoffice who was still going for heavy snow all night here - NOT going to happen! Severe disappointment for him tomorrow I feel!
-
No offence but this has been majorly crap and I mean majorly crap
-
Why can't we just have Jan 2010 again
-
What a pile of poo right in the middle of the two precipitation bands -.-
-
Wow some people I know are going to be severely disappointed tomorrow morning
-
So what are the snow depths like at either their peak depth or currently?
Seems like a slightly hit and miss event, with snow-rain further west whilst snow still going for some parts of the E.Midlands.
6.5cm, raining now
-
Pretty much stopping here now, but dark clouds...which either means heavier snow or rain. Soon find out. Fingers crossed it doesn't thaw too much. My little brother will be delighted when he wakes up. Been a good night, went for two walks tonight. One when it was heavily snowing millions of tiny flakes and then just as it started to get immensely thick and heavy. It's been an eventful night, and I've enjoyed every second of it. If that's all we get all winter, then I'm happy with it, we've done well here. 5 inches.
Double what I've had!
-
pretty poor compared to some places - 6.5cm and now heavy rain.
