  1. Since andys getting some stick for slating how reliable the NAE precip type might be, anyone remember this

    post-6740-0-08066600-1328297068_thumb.jp

At +48 and +42 it showed snow over large areas of the midlands, the reality was snow was restricted to oxford southwards.

Its not always right, however this time i hope it is albeit having predicted things 30/40mile to far east :)

I remember that perfectly, metoffice were wrong, bbc forecasts were wrong and there you have it

  2. Okay, hour-by-hour forecast for Evesham according to the NMM:

    Sat 16.00: light sleet (0.44mm)

    Sat 17.00: moderate sleet (1.01mm)

    Sat 18.00: moderate sleet (1.48mm)

Sat 19.00: heavy icy rain (2.53mm)

Sat 20.00: moderate icy rain (1.6mm)

Sat 21.00: moderate icy rain (1.8mm)

Sat 22.00: moderate icy rain (1.78mm)

Sat 23.00: moderate icy rain (0.86mm)

    -------------------------------------------------

    TOTAL PRECIPITATION: 11.5mm

As you can see, looking very marginal where you are. Temps look a little too high to me, especially later on on Saturday. 2.4C by 11pm according to this model which is far too high. The best thing that could happen for you is it moving through a bit quicker. Otherwise I could see it being snow turning to rain. :(

    Yea oh well :(

  3. I'm not as knowledgeable as many others, but I suspect that for Worcs it will be a snow-to-rain event. That said, it's so close that even your 115 m of altitude may make a noticeable difference.

Yea probs, I'm just into gloucestershire actually - if you look at gloucestershire I'm that little outcrop on the right of it = near Chipping Campden if you've heard of it

  4. I think I know what happened with that pub run tonight. When the GFS 18Z came back from the pub, it started to feel sick with all of the drinks it had. But when it was sick, it threw up blue liquid all over the 'UK Precipitation Type' charts for Western areas on Saturday night. This, I reckon, ended up covering up the pink on those charts the GFS was meant to show for us on Saturday night, and into Sunday morning. ;-)

I think one thing for sure, though, is that thanks to the invention of the window, and the street lights, it will indeed be one of those cases where we may have to stare at the sky to see what goodies the weather brings. :)

Yep, looking at the radar and out of the window is what I'll be doing
