Any chance of storms near Manchester or just to the east of it?
Some broken areas of cloud near where I am, but very warm and muggy.
-
Head a few rumbles of thunder over last ten minutes.
-
Mild temps, longer days coming and rain is good for now I'll take that. Get that rain to warm the soil
Woo hoo spring is nearly here.
-
Gavin has just posted some more charts int he model thread. They look lovely.
-
On the METO beta site the forecast has been pretty much spot on for me
Quite often right to be fair.
NMM charts are not to be trusted as has already been proven many times this winter.
-
Besides, mild weather is coming for us all to enjoy
-
How have the METO got this wrong? They've been spot on with forecast this evening for my area.
Too many peopel on here clutch to straws

As I say to my kids - if you can't say something positive, don't bother. Kudos to Backtrack for putting some effort into his posts, so much more beneficial to the world than those throwing small stones at him. We're all disappointed by the weather at times, get over it. As I type there are all sorts of showers pepping up around the region. Some of you may look a little foolish come the morning. Or maybe not, but being negative is just the lazy way.
It seems BT ramped up a situation again and got the hopes of people up!
Others such as SnowJoke seem to be spot on correct.

From around 5pm the colder air difference between the SST's (sea surface temperatures) will create some major convection, with the wind still being in our favour. I love it at night as I can watch my lamppost
If there are flakes mixed in with uppers of -4C/-5C with an air temperature of 7C, then I am certain that the showers will be completely of snow, perhaps grauple too.
The conditions are ripe, and I fully expect to see a streamer later on. A few cm's for some locations.
What locations?
-
Scotland.
None for the NW of England then. Merseyside, Cheshire et al?
-
You say this every damn hour. It's getting old, give it a rest already!!
Whereis the 2-5cm of snow?
-
Oh well, clearly no chance for anyone then. Time for bed all.
I thought I recall various people in this thread slag off the NMM in the past.
-
Latest NMM has showers around the N Wales coast / NW English coast pepping up from time to time all night, so there may be some hope yet.
NMM had snow showers for me a few times within 3 hours...they did not happen, lol.
-
1.6 here lol

Irish Sea still looks a bit boring to me at the moment.

C.S
It's been a winter to forget that's for sure. Had a few inches of snow here for other week and December, but that's it. That's normal here, I might even say it's below normal.

Gavin has posted some lovely charts in the model thread
yeah, definitely a non event for the snow capital of England, you must have had loads on feb 4th and 9th
Nothing spectacular.
-
Mate you say that every time, atleast you've had some.
A few minutes of snowfall is a non-event.
Dire, just dire for snow.
-
It's a bit of a non-event.
Bring on spring
I can't wait for double digit temps.
-
Was that it then for snow, lol?
-
I literally havent seen a drop of ppn all day!

Interesting. Just gone very dark here, and a sudden breeze, feels like a cooler temp and a freshness in the air.
