Heavy snow here now
-
I can confirm snow here.
-
Heavy hail started.
Very heavy
Wow, white already with hail. Windy too.
-
Tmp drop. 2.7 here now.
-
Have to admit, Irish Sea does look interesting and lively.
I'm getting spots of rain but I'm not under a cloud
Bird wee?
-
I am doubtful of any snow chances today, tonight and tomorrow. Hopefully, a lovely sunny day tomorrow as per METO forecast. I walk up to Chinley and Cracken Edge for me will be a nice day out.
Just looking forward to the lovely double-digit temps we have next week and hopefully those temps will sustain, so we can all enjoy a lovely start to spring.
I think we can all agree the winter has been rubbish and all welcome lovely spring weather
-
Heavy intense hail has resumed.
-
Hail has stoped, sun is back out.
-
Hail here now.
-
IS the Irish Sea starting to pep up?
-
Temp dropping. Was 3.9, 5 minutes ago. Now 3.4.
-
Hopefully snow will miss me, as it will only be a couple of CM.
-
Hopefully no snow here tomorrow. Snow only interests me if it's over a foot - otherwise it means nothing to me.
-
A very warm May?
Check out the latest long range charts. If these are correct, it'll be a very wet, cool, cloudy May!
IF
I'm still waiting for this deep cold we've meant to of had.
Meh.
-
So I suppose it's now looking likely that I won't seeing any more lying snow for at least another 12 months since I last had some back in December?
Pathetic.
Good news though is spring may come early
-
very Mild weather doesnt mean a t-shirt weather it could be wet and very stormy
Hopefully, mild with party cloudy skies would suit me fine
Just saw some charts in the model thread. Have to look a bit hard - some temps look like '18', but could be 16 or 13. Either way mid-teens for this time of the month is welcome, and hopefully be consistent and improve.
What we could do with though is mild temps and a period of weather that's a mixture of all Rain in the morning, lovely warm rain to soak the soils and then sun in the afternoon - or vice versa. Encourage teh birds to sing, buds to grow and spring will be here soon enough for us all to enjoy.l
Bored with this none event of a winter.
Lovely:
-
Net Weather force cast has me for double digit temps next week.
Hopefully, the hairdrying will get switched ona bit early and we can all enjoy a nice early spring
Shorts weather is not too far away.
-
Feels very nice. Around 6 degrees, but feels warmer in the sum to me. Hopefully, get some double digit temps as Feb exists and March arrives I've seen more buds and more signs of spring.
-
What I said is no worse than people getting excited about specific cold perturbations/ensembles. Saw posts in model threads dedicated to cold perturbations/ensembles, and how many of them came out exactly correct?
-
I want double digit figures
-
The quality of snow this winter has been awful. At times only on high hills and lower in the hills just green - looks horrible with clear snow line. Also we've still got laying snow in the garden of a few CM, but no blue skys and had fog after the last snowfall last week/early this week. Just pointless.
I am looking forward to a complete pasting or a lovely early mild spring, and hopefully in March get some lovely warm rain to wam the soils up. I think I may go chart hunting and find some lovely spring weather charts to post.
-
I love snow, but only if it's + 6 inches and we have cool days after it and blue skys with some clouds in. Otherwise it's just boring and miserable.
May as well have mild weather, lol. So trying to use mental thoughts to bring some mild weather and warm rain for a early spring, lol.
But yes I will admit that FI is days not weeks, and any charts mild, cold or whatever over a few days even will change as models are chopping and changing and UKMO seem to be on recovering from New Year's Eve party.
-
I'm sure there will be at least one or two more cold shots with potential for the NW of England before the end of March.
Remember, March can sometimes be the snowiest month. Northerlies at the end of February to mid-March have more of a kick than in December/January/early Feb.
Lol. Yeah, posting charts for February 23rd is by far the most accurate method of forecasting the weather known to man. Never known anything to be so damn good.
Of course fi, and a millions things can change, but nice to see anyway. Trends not specifics we're looking for and a nice mild trend is developing.
It's better than cherry picking perfect easterly perturbations (lol) in the model thread that don't materialize.
-
Lovely charts posted by Gavin in the model thread showing max temps of 12 degrees for the NW in the near future. Good news as spring is getting nearer and get some good mild weather we all want and a nice early spring is very much possible if charts verify.
Good news all round

Fair play Backtrack, well done with this forecast/prediction. METO had no snow for me at this time.
