  1. There's a difference between a few puddles and your house being ruined by filthy flood water. Neither heavy rain, strong winds or snow/ice are desired by the general populous, but snow has one advantage: it looks nice. Flood water doesn't look nice at all. Snow might delay my morning train, but it isn't going to damage my house, unless it's exceptionally heavy.

Yeah that was a bit of a spur of the moment post for which i apolagise. I certainly wouldnt like to be flooded. My point is that different weather affects different livelyhoods and that seems to get forgotten a lot of the time in many posts on these forums. As long as the coldies get what they want nobody else matters but it also works the other way i imagine

  2. One good thing. Thankfully it is half term next week, and there will not be the usual school run or children walking to school at the worst time for the strong winds on Monday morning. I am off from work too and will be keeping mine indoors. I won't even be driving down to the coast for photo opportunities!

I don't have much choice.  I'll be driving from Kent to Worthing at 4.30 Monday morning to do 90 odd deliveries.  I'm taking my camera !!

  3. I used to love the summer evenings but since i have a job now where i get up at 3.15am for work so i generally go to bed about 20.00 in the evenings on weeknights.  Daylight and heat until 22.00 wasn't pleasant for getting to sleep and as i drive for a living a good nights sleep is important so i'm quite looking forward to going to bed in cool darkness again soon.

Flip side is i'm now doing early morning deliveries in darkness again now where as a few weeks ago it was daylight.
