  1. The best looking cell on radar at 2200z was located 10-15 miles east of Friend moving north at about 35-40 mph towards the town of Gove (as opposed to Gove county) ... this is being defined as a supercell in the warning and will probably drop a large tornado at some point next hour. Would target 10-15 south of Gove asap.

Huge funnel dropping from this one - brilliant footage as above (Matt Grantham)

  2. we are heading for the southern cell currently over garden city we can se 2 wall clouds aready on diferent cells its looking good on radar at the mo

  3. Hi Franko

I just discovered your thread this evening and have to say that it made a great read.

Been lucky to have visited your country over the past 2 years, on both occasions to the lake area in June 2006 (not much happened in the way of storms) and August (amazing overnight storms over lake garda).

Just wondered what is the best time of the year for storms in your area? - I'm guessing that things could be very dry over July and August?

  5. Met Office hinting at colder conditions for eastern areas:

UK Outlook for Monday 31 Dec 2007 to Wednesday 9 Jan 2008:

A slow moving band of rain is expected to affect many parts on Monday. High pressure will be building though, so by Tuesday, many places should be drier. During the rest of the period this high pressure is expected to lie over the near continent which will allow southerly winds to dominate. There are indications that eastern parts will be rather cold with frost and fog by night, which may be slow to clear in the daytimes and also the threat of wintry showers. Further west there is likely to be more in the way of a breeze, along with the threat of some rain, particularly in the northwest, though it should be milder here. These unsettled conditions could edge across the whole country towards the end of the period.
