meto 16 day looks cold wth snow potential for a fortnight [ESPECIALLY IN THE EAST},not what they are saying in the mods though, confused !!!!

Notice how it keeps getting pushed back though, 1st we were getting a few cm on sat night followed by snow showers on sunday, now we have to wait till monday night by the time we get this snow .. im inpatient. ,

Like the blue blob over kent, TBH it would just be nice to wake up sunday morning to something, anything, white..

2-5cm not exaclly going to be snowed in are we! 2 -5 foot would be acceptable

Looking like a good wintry spell nxt week. A concern i have is temps , day time temps that is, most are showing +2-+3 especially on bbc weather. Im aware colder uppers will be presnt so any ppn would be white , but would it stick? and surely there would be a fairly rapid melt at those sort of tempratures?? {ONLY TO RE-FREEZE AT NIGHT}

I thought the SSW was supposed to increase heights to the north and therfore cut of the atlantic ,and therfore also stop the shortwaves from happening ..? If this isnt the case im confused and feel a bit silly, its only what i read.. Frost and Fog here this morning ,much more seasonal temp 1.8c Edit .. i understand the Atlantic is the driving force and will always win out eventually, but on this occasion i thought the jet stream would be interrupted.to allow the cold to take hold,, for at least a 10 day period or there abouts? Still learning i guess..

Here in Ramsgate its -3.1 , beautiful clear skies ,ground,rooofs cars pavements all festivaly white..fishpond frozen. Think we have 1 more subzero night ahead ,then floods and mild mush till Jan!! Be nice to see a bit of snow tomorow eve ,from that ppn coming up the channel..

Yes about 1 mile from north sea. looking towards dover there are some seriously dark skies.

Have had graupal showers on and off this morning,dusting when we woke which had frozen to car windows, all melting now though wth + 4 alredy here!

Notice you said INLAND, does that imply here on the east coast any ppn will fall as rain if best sleet??If so in the space of 2 days ive gone from being buried in snow to a wet squib..

just seen some webcams in Great Yarmouth, everything is white and still snowing heavy,can anyone let us know what temps and due points are there ?? Wondering if that is coming to East kent!!!
