Think they under estimate the power of the atlantic and in my opinion always do. To get the beast proper i think the Atlantic needs to be sleeping.

Im a bit concerned, as the model threads just 2 days ago were consistent that there would be a full blown beasterlly lasting for at least 10 days , now we are looking at slack n/ne wth cold lasting 3/4 days max,wth temps no where near 87/91/09/10. [Lets hope im wrong } I officially am staying off mod threads as ive had my hopes crushed once again, only have myself to blame.. That aside a couple of days wth the white stuff this side of xmas would be a treat, and ill look forward to Jan/Feb

This will be my first post of the winter,ive being watching the forums these last few days and tried not to get to excited , that was till now, .. Here in ramsgate it is currently snowing, it started off as rain tuned to snow then rain ,now back to snow, large flakes to boot ,which im just happy to see wth 3 weeks till crimbo, one can only get excited from here on!! Started the day wth a heavy frost, then the sky went pink, always a good sign!! Temp dropped to -0.4c currently 1.7c Reading the model discussion, there looks like lots to keep us interested for the next few weeks, just hope it leads right up till Xmas....

Had 70mm of rain in ramsgate since sunday lunch, and guess what ?? its still raining heavy,, as i speak........ Just seen a flash of lightning.

We to have had a slight thaw over night ,having said that temp last night dropped to 0.6c, but is currently reading 3.4c.. Still a good cover of snow in back grdn but disapearing fast from front grdn ...this is now day 10 of measurable snow though so no complaining from me , have been sledging wth kids many times over the last week as well so have made use... if there are no more cold spells round the corner and will be looking forward to Spring !!!! [its been fun ,and i look forward to nxt year ,its been a pleasure reading all your blogs ,c u nxt year peps....]

Just got home from wrk still 3 inches plus snow in grdn, very icy as well , but its +3 dgrs so expect most will be gone by end of tomorow ,9 days of good lying snow wth sub zero temps for most of that period was well worth waiting for this winter ,hers to the nxt winter blast...

Dropped to -5.2 on ramsgates sunny coast , 8th day of good lying snow to boot ,off sledging now wth kids , should be nice and fast as it will be frozen solid..[i think this is the last 24hr period of proper cold mind]

still a good 3 inches spread evenly here ,not been above freezing today either...

Agree 7 days of lying snow and 2 weeks of temps around freezing , cant complain , especially considering wot was on offer Dec,Jan.!!!..Been sledging had a snow ball fight ∧ made a snow man .......Job done .....

im noticing a lot of diffrence between the next 7 days forcasting , very confusing at mo...7th day of lying snow here, temp -1.4oc cloudy... I think by sunday or monday snow will melt cant complain really though....

Must be just by this warm.. bath of a north sea then.. still plenty of snow on ground just a lot warmer than its been for a long time ..

Temp last night -2.2, curently +2.0c , 6th day of lying snow,[6cm still in grdn] Not going to complain about this winter anymore after the way it was looking back in mid jan , i was beginning to believe it just wasent going to happen.. Have now had 2 weeks of subzero night time temps , and day temps that hve barely got above freezing and on 3 occasions have been ice days Anything from here on will just be a big bonus,. . morning all , no snow overnight here ,temps hovered between -0.4 &+0.2 so no thaw to speak off , in fact thers a pretty raw dry wind blowing so im not expecting any or much snow melt today , was hoping to wake and find at least a small covering ,. was feeling kind of disapointment but having read your morning posts i see we may have something to look forward to on friday ,fingers crossed ..

you guys think you have it bad , i had -3.4 at 4.30 today , its now +0.2 !!!!!! wont be long before i start hearing drip,drip,drip.. Was led to believe i was in for some really low temps tonight wth snow flurries ,i have neither ,god im frustrated.

temps have been rising now in thanet for the last few hours , today at 4oclock it was -3.4 ,its now -0.4 at this rate we will soon be in plus digits . Wots going on!!

guys chill, its pretty cloudy here now in ramsgate and its -2.5 and falling ,and thats wth a stiff east wind off a fairly mild sea , i fully expect temps to drop inland significantly lower.....

clouds building in thanet after a sunny day ,temps have dropped quickly this avo ,currently -2.3 everything remains frozen,as it has been all day

official ice day, temp never rose above -0.8 and has fallen in the last half hour to -1.6, still sunny on coast wth jst a few cotton wool bits,looking for a kent clipper tonight ,would settle for a couple of cm to top up the frozen snow we have already
