  1. Thanks guys, problem is the cottage is surrounded. Pumping out would be fruitless, but I'll be grateful for the sandbags for the night after boxing day if not tonight. The level will drop fairly quickly after it stops, at least I know that ( I am by a small stream normally, but it's a torrent tonight ). I imagine others are having a much tougher time than me tonight anyway. Luckily the kids are home from Uni to help deal with the issue. The presents are dry!
  2. Flooded out now. Island Roads delivering sandbags to me. Kitchen under water, dining room under water, lifting furniture now in living room. What a Sh***er. At least there's still power and a wood burner.
  3. Just been out to check what's going on, we are totally marooned by flood water outside. I'm just one field from Military road and two from coast. Will be checking it all out at first light!
  4. Absolutely honking it down on SW coast of Island. Must be some serious cliff erosion going on with all the run-off. Sea is roaring.
  5. Can concur with that. Lights flickering in Brighstone and squally showers with some very strong gusts
  6. I'm on the the south west coast of IOW, it's easily the strongest now that it has been all night. Quite impressive.
  7. To honest, it looks darker west than south. Anyway, looks like it's got our name on it tonight. Washing in.
  8. Wettish snow coming down moderately on SW coast of IOW. Bitter out there, nothing settling.
  9. Moderate snow also right on SW coast of IOW. No sign on any sleet / melting at all. Not cold enough for significant drifting it seems though.
  10. First sleet for some hours now mixed into the wind & rain here on SW coast of the Island.
  11. Bay is really hardy, but if the soil in the pot freezes it can be bad news. Bring it in to be safe.
  12. Can visibly see the red-tinged shower clouds now that are heading from the east into the IOW from radar. Wind direction perfect now. Expecting a light shower in less than an hour. Local temp -1.1 here.
  13. West Dorset looks favourite I reckon. Lovely and clear outside now though and temps dropping.
  14. Serious flooding in my area of south west Isle of Wight. Can't get out, too deep for (2WD) car.
  15. Sorry,no thermometer set up. Still light around here, so potential for temp to drop I guess if it intensifies......
