Worth noting the convergence line shown on the 00z Sunday FAX chart is at the EXACT same angle as the Feb 09 streamer, through S.London, out into Surrey near Guildford then through Hampshire (broadly along with the amber warning, may need to be slightly 'fattened')

I remember that event well, it was excellent here in Ockendon. This morning we have an inch or so everywhere except roads and pavements and it's been snowing since quite early, some of it huge flakes!

    915 radar update

clinging onto the back edge here with more building over tonbridge ( still pitch black here )

Sweet spot currently for next 2 hours

SE & central / East Essex.

Colchester down to NE london - all points SE down to the thames-

    Can the tonbridge line build!?

I think that's good news for my area then? Been snowing steadily for a while now and the sky looks full of it!

    Well things are looking good now;

    • unexpected streamers today still on going
    • the MET Office just moved the Amber warning slightly East for tomorrow. interestingly  its in the highest impact in the matrix, so once they know for sure its going to hit, in theory should be red warnings.
    • Plus if the latest ECM run is to be believed cold is here until Thursday now if with snow opportunities everyday. But that obviously subject to change when we don't even know for sure what is happening tomorrow.

Do you think we should expect much in our neck of the woods? Snowing very heavily in Tilbury earlier.

Unfortunately I'm now on the other side of the region! That being said I gave Ockendon a visit today, nice covering of snow there, even if most of the morning the streamer was literally miles to the north.

We've had a few heavyish horizontal showers late afternoon, one of which I got caught in, but it hasn't got above -1 in my back yard today. Lethal underfoot too!

Depends on what you want, for the west of the area it looks ok for probably 3-6cms which is probably about where the mean of the models is at the moment. Not so good the further east you go, but for most of you guys in the east, you've more than had your fill anyway now ;)

Hi! You're not living in Ockendon anymore then? I always used to look out for your posts as someone local to me! not that I don't read them now of course!

This evening looking better than I thought, Estuary is creating its own light Thames streamer, and them big blobs are heading towards us hopefully if winds hold when they hit the mouth  which is slightly warmer we should see the yellow and orange colours.

We've had a couple of heavyish showers recently and some others passing close by. Here's hoping!

I have waken to a blanket of snow. Roads have not been gritted as the snow was not expected to be as  heavy today as there was supposed to be heavy snow in the overnight on Monday in the early hours of the morning (amber warning) but hardly snowed.  Any areas that don't get any snow today will get it either on Thursday or Friday.

Looks very like my back garden this morning! Whereabouts in Ockendon are you? My daughter managed to get to work in Tilbury quicker than usual this morning! But my hubbie only managed to get as far as Barking on the train so he is coming home again!
