Chapmanslade, its just bone moderate but heavy about 10 mins ago. I can see chapmanslade rit over to cley hill as you probably can, im right up bath side of frome and it did look lighter over your way when it bucketed down here, sometimes opposite happens long
Eat, cley hill get tonnes of snow or rain and we can get nothing and have sunshine, so local the weather its amazing.

Light snow here , no snow melt as of yet, fairly high up so that helps.

Most of the snow fell between 4a.m and 6.a.m we have about 14cm here now and im hoping for more.

Just got in from sledging with partner and son, lovely and not that cold.
Going out again this afternoon with my skiis. Still snowing albeit very light, im hoping we get some more.
Does anyone think southwest will get more snow over the weekend or is that it until monday evening.
Southest looks like getting our snow then they will get more moving up from southeast over the weekend bringing them 5-10cm , any chance of that spreading over to us?

Wow, jus woke up, snowing heavy here in frome, looks like 10 12 cm already on ground but havent been out to measure. Lovely.

Its raining here in Frome. Not snow or sleet just rain, not heavy. I think it`ll change to snow though as winds swing S.E ahead of the main frontal system coming in.

All i can say is WELL DONE IAN FERGUSSON, He predicted the mid Jan cold spell back in Early December and he also said this snow event back at very start of the week.

Ok, red for wales , but i am happy with 15cms that may fall here as we are a little higher up.
Enjoy it all, this will be a 1980`s event. Not even 2010 had that much we had 12 cms in Frome then.

How much for red area.
Would be best for flood victims to get snow not rain so it filters back to rivers slowly as long as no fast thaw happens.

AWD and Chris, can it still snow under the greens then? if so, apologies and forgive my ignorance.I thought we had to be behind the -5 850 line.

GFS now showing some mild air (Greens for 18.00) before going back to snow , so wales and all southwest England down to I.O.W after initial snow small period of rain then back to snow up and probably through saturday.)
I have feeling the snow falling will be wet at times so snow depths won`t be as much folks.

Iceman, possible bud, snow here right now and big splodge coming in off bristol channel and headed put way for about 5.00 5.15, if it has the energy to stick together and break up.
