Good day everyone, I have not posted for a long time (probably last winter). It’s good to see the forum going strong with great posts and pictures as usual. Hopefully I can contribute more posts over time as my shift has changed to better hours which means I have more time to myself and to spend with the kids.
It was very sad to read the news about Puffy, I really enjoyed reading his posts.
Not much in the way of snow here recently but some brutally low temperatures making everything frosty and white. The local walks are so much better with a covering of frost and bright winter sunshineFingers crossed for a white Christmas, a good chance going by the latest output

A good couple of inches here and another shower about to move it. School bus unable to make it up the hill so the kids happy to walk to school in the snow

Hi all, I am off work tomorrow and the kids are off school as it’s an In-service day. I was thinking of taking a drive through the Glencoe area with them to hopefully see some snow and enjoy the scenery. I just hope the roads will be fine if it does snow

It was a great one day snow event yesterday. The kids managed to get out the sledges for a few hours after school and have a snowball fight with their friends. Still plenty of time left for winter to deliver something more special for all of us

Traffic chaos around many parts of Glasgow and surrounding areas at the moment. Thought the met may have upgraded to Amber when I saw the radar this morning but I guess it wouldn't have made much difference really. Still snowing here but not adding too much to the totals since its wet and heavy and melting as fast as its falling. I hink we have 2-3 inches on the grass but hard to tell from the first floor flat.
If this was the London area then red warnings would probably be in place. It’s always the same, I think it’s very poor the way the met office handle their warnings for Scotland.

Pishy sleet here, horrible day!
I am hoping that later tonight I will see some snow while up at East Kilbride.

Happy new year folks!
I was out a walk with the family earlier, the sun was shining and was very mild but windy. After walking for about an hour or so and about a mile from home the heavens opened. I should have checked the radar before leaving the house with no waterproofs. The wife and kids were not happy with my advice on just to wear a jumper

The models hinting at a possible cold snap from the north west around the middle of next week. Good chance it will deliver for the mountains and hopefully for low lying areas for a time even though it will probably be short lived.
The way things are going this winter I would be delighted with a couple of cm of snow on the ground for a day so the kids and get out and enjoy it.

Same here, very light snow falling here!
I guess I can class Christmas 2021 as a white one

Just finished a 12 hour shift at work and disappointed to find out the charts are not looking as good as they did a couple of days ago. It’s still early days as far as winter is concerned. Hopefully January can deliver for us.

PCR results just in and the scores on the door are kids positive, adults negative
Same happened in our household a couple of weeks ago. Stuck the two kids in the same room to keep each other company for 10 days. Me and the wife remained negative and the kids are now back at school. Thank god for iPads, TVs and laptops. The schools are rife with the virus at the moment.
Hopefully 2022 sees an end to all this!
