Heavy snow here now, not settling....yet
I will be heading to East Kilbride soon to work. I imagine it will already be white up there

I am no expert, thankfully @LomondSnowstorm has answered your question
What I do know though is that there is no raging Atlantic in the near future and things are turning colder with snow potential increasing for many members at lower levels.
Lots of interesting weather coming up, I am sure this thread will be busy over the next couple of weeks

I am pretty confident that I will see some decent snowfall at work this week. My workplace sits at 210m. The likes of Eaglesham and Neilston should do well also which is only a 5-10 min drive away so if no snow falls in Barrhead I can take the kids there to play and go sledging. I am very lucky to have higher areas close by with lots of great hills for sledging and walking

4 minutes ago, AFC Snow said:6z runs all moving the mild air much further north for the middle of this week. Looks like more easterly muck here unfortunately.
The 6z only shows mild air south of the border, parts of Scotland will be buried if the 6z was to be correct.
It all depends on the position of the low.
Exciting times for all of us with plenty of snow potential

Probably higher values through the forth/Clyde estuary if streamers set up
Yes definitely! We usually do well In these kind of setups.
Before all that all eyes are on tomorrow and the rest of the week for some good snow potential
Met office update looks promising- 8

Good to see the charts have not backtracked this morning. Exciting model watching over the next few days to see where we end up. Hopefully a big juicy easterly with the North Sea snow machine firing up and bringing plenty of heavy snow showers and streamers pushing across all of Scotland
Before all that we should keep an eye on Tuesday with the possibility of a snow event. Obviously it will be marginal again and thats if the precipitation gets this far north but at least the possibility is there and something to keep an eye on.

A slight covering of snow here this morning, nothing to what it’s like in East Kilbride though.
Looks very interesting as we head into February as you can see from the post by @Kirkcaldy Weather

I was letting the cat outside just before I went to bed and opened the door to be surprised by heavy snow
It didn’t last long but it has left a nice wee dusting making everything look nice and wintry once again
I checked the radar and one of those showers finally made it to here without fading away.

It’s very annoying watching those showers die out as they push towards the west coast.

I thought last night that there were some more organised showers heading this way and I was surprised that we’ve had no precipitation of any type. This morning, anything out west fizzles out before it gets here and you can still that now. The showers to the west fizzle out as they move in.
Cold today, frost not lifted at all although sky is now clear and the sun is out.
Yeah looks like they are dying off as they move closer.

1 minute ago, Ross B said:Nice to see snow around Ayrshire. The meto just issued a yellow snow and ice warning for the west, probably partly because the showers heading towards land now look heavier and more organised.
Yes just checked the radar, looks as though those showers are heading straight for Ayrshire. Good luck Ayrshire folk

A tricky drive home from work, never seen one gritter on the way back! Happy to report a covering of snow at home also. I guess it’s another day of sledging and walking in the snow tomorrow after the kids do their online lessons. Very happy with this winter, 3 really good surprise snowfalls over the last 3 weeks

You would expect places like East Kilbride to see some decent snowfall later - @Stormeh are you working tonight!?
Yes I have just arrived and we have sleet here and it looks interesting for later..
Could be an interesting drive home at midnight
