  1. -4.8deg here already. Wonder how low it will go?

I noticed that the temp bottomed out after I went to work this morning at -6.1.

Doesn't seem to have been that much of a thaw today. South facing grass showing a good bit of green but everything else still a couple inches deep.

  2. The GFS has shown the snow coming from the north since thur/ Friday. I'm sure LS posted the precip type charts on Friday? A few pages back.

    We'll see what happens.

Still a lot of snow cover here but some green showing. Road is just compacted snow here. Any pavement showing is bone dry though.

A wee top up would be fine.

  3. Heavy snow when leaving for work. Was 5deg when I got up with dew point 3.7. When I left it had dropped to 2 deg and dew 0.1.

Heavy sleet in prestwick. Not looking forward to the drive home tonight.

Edit: meant to say I passed 3 snow ploughs on the way here so they seem to be taking it seriously.

  4. A repeat of last week will do me fine.

I think we would need to be incredibly lucky to hit the jackpot again with the showers this week though.

This morning we only had a small snow patch on the front garden. I don't see it lasting to wed though.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for midweek. :cold:

  5. Is there something wrong with the Loch Glascarnoch weather station? It's been reporting heavy rain for the last couple of weeks, often at temps well below freezing, despite the fact that the area is under feet of snow?

Here in the highland capital, of all snow other than that which was piled up has melted. Sleet back now though.

Similar story here. Most of the lying snow has gone. Just my piles left! Just doesn't sound right does it?

Managed to get the car washed today so it can snow again anytime!

  6. Rapid thaw of snowcover now underway. 6 centigrade today and I believe it is expected to be higher than that on Sunday although I think it will be less mild than predicted due to the switch back to brief cold tomorrow. Snow has melted from all the roofs of houses etc. Just the grass, roads and pavements to melt now.

Same here. Snowmans head fell off overnight. Almost back to a two way street after.a week of single track. I think the piles of snow from digging out and the snow plough will take a bit if shifting.

  7. I was wondering about that - doesn't look like anything major falling on the traffic cameras around there. Wundermap has it marginally further west, but still should be something starting to fall on the Ayrshire coast:

Can confirm absolutely nothing falling from the sky in Prestwick despite what the radar shows.

Will report from home in around an hour and a half.
