In Bolton town centre now never seen it like this before. Had to buy some wellies as the snow is deep in places and where its melting there are pools of water so my feet got very wet - even with boots on!

We got a severe dumping last night - about six inches. Not many cars about this morning.

Snowing in Bolton and sticking.

This may seem like a silly question but there seem to be disagreements about who is going to see tomorrow's snow and how much. The met office still have my area under an amber warning. Is my area definately going to see snow or should we prepare for the disappointment?

I was just reading all your posts regarding the model thread which I have been following for three years now but never post. I've noticed that there seems to be a lot of tolling going on as well as IMBYism. The events on Monday are in the reliable timeframe now but I feel more confused than ever with all the opposing points of view. We normally do Ok in Bolton for snow but not too sure now. I'm beginning to think it's better to just avoid the model thread and just see what's there when you open the curtains on Monday morning!

Hi, I'm a newbie who has been watching the forums for a couple of years. My area is currently under a yellow met office warning for Monday and Tuesday. I just wondered if someone could explain from the models what we are likely to expect for this period. I've only now plucked up the courage to post on this discusion thread (usually post on the regionals) so please be gentle!

It appears that the chances of snow for the more southern parts of the North West, on Thursday and Friday, have all but disappeared - very disappointed Hope Saturday brings something.
