    Big strikes of lightning here, didn't hear any thunder though. Is there more to come for my area tonight or just a one off?

    Hoping we won't have as much snow locally as we did last winter (even though I love snow!!!) but I do need to get the the hospital at the end of December to give birth lol.

    Just read this on your Twitter feed and came on to see if there was any more info! Not too far from me at all. The skies are very dark here at the moment - I've had to put the lamp on!

    Very gusty here in the last 40mins or so. Quite a few wheelie bins over (why do people leave them on the pavement argh! Rubbish everywhere now!) and our plastic playhouse has moved across the garden!

    It got so dark in the house we had to put the lamps on! Thunder was nice and crackly too, love that noise! So glad my little lad managed to finally see his first storm of the year!! He is only 5 and loves all things weather!

    Just had a nice little unexpected storm here - lots of thunder, not much lightning. Tonnes of rain!

    We had it too - quite loud thunder and the lightning was lighting up the dark bedroom. Certainly cleared the air though!!

    Cheers Paul. Is it due to produce much? Still quite long in between thunder and lightning. Its spread a bit though because I've had txts from family in villages 4/5miles away.

    Just been woken by very loud thunder and can see lightning through the curtains. What a surprise!

    Longest - definitely Tunisia, August 2008. Lasted from 6pm until early hours the next day. The biggest storm I've ever seen and amazing to see the sea light up with the lightning. We were sat on the beach loungers under the sun umbrellas watching! Shortest - too many to remember. Infact I can't remember the last time we had a decent storm locally!

    Blimey its warm out there today! Almost felt as if we were abroad on the school walk this morning! Looking good for my area - Netweather have 86% chance of a storm after 1pm and 85% after 4pm. Really hoping we have a good storm - although no rain please between 3-4pm for the school run lol.

    Really hoping I'm in for a chance tomorrow! MetO for Monday in East Mids: Variable cloud will allow sunshine at times and it will become very warm again. Showers are expected later, these becoming locally heavy and thundery, especially in the evening. More breezy. Maximum temperature 28 °C.
