    We've had half term here this week, hopefully most schools will be on half term down south where the winds look to be most dangerous! Wish me luck getting battered on the 3 mile round school walk!

    more lightning here too, lighting up the room yet a good few seconds between the lightning and thunder. Really humid, rain slightly heavier.

    Many places in Nottinghamshire are still drying out after 3 inches of rainfall in 90 minutes on Tuesday.

    Bbc showed the rain reaching the midlands from lunchtime, meto showing later - would anyone like to have a guess at who is right? Planning a day out in Lincoln tomorrow and don't want to be travelling in torrential rain (or shopping in it!)

    Very spoiled locally over the past 24hrs, some of the best UK lightning I've ever seen!

    Calm after the storm now, though still muggy and heavy skies. Not surprised at the amount of flooding, the rain seriously came down - I now have a leaking conservatory roof Nottinghamshire certainly has been the place to be over the past 24hrs!

    Rain easing here now, but traffic chaos all over Nottinghamshire due to the sudden heavy rainfall. Thunder still rumbling.
