@bearing not seen you on for a while! looking white out there now
Haha, yes, it’s looking nice out now. Spent most of the day fixing my car in the wet snow.

Shower coming through now, probably the last of this spell, so quite poignant!
Get yourself out and give it a salute

Here comes the next one! A few more of these and there'll be a decent covering by the morning.
You're getting what we've not long had in Stafford. The showers seem to be forming into a continuous band now.

I'm on the same line
There's some good activity forming just off the coast at Mablethorpe. Should be with us in a couple of hours.

There is a few heading our way! at least some flurries
There's one decent sized one - albeit on radar - just to the north of Burton.

Yes, Dancerwithwings, nothing again over Lincoln way, winds to me are still ENE, not E
From my reckoning I think we need to look towards Mablethorpe for our showers.

In the mobile so we face every direction.
To be honest, you get used to it after a while.

Aye, seems to mild to settle, snowed quite a lot but wet flakes
Try keeping your doors and windows open like we are doing at school, it's not so mild then...

Lovely, looks fabulous.
Must say, although we haven't got anything to show, I've enjoyed the heavy showers rattling through. Sometimes I'm just happy that it's snowing.

Good to see you back on! Jan 24th was a great day! much better winter this year
Cheers, yes it was grand. It was a snow day for school on the Monday, although now they have remote learning they didn't technically get one as there were lessons available for them. However, the snowfall on the Sunday was brilliant, proper snow like in the 80s...

Looks like the low is starting to pull away. Hopefully that will start to change the trajectories

bbc weather video for tomorrow looks amazing, not the rest of the week mind you,
From that video, it looks like a battering for most of the day from those streamers.

Don’t know what it was in Stafford today but parts down here were well over 13c today, it’ll be completely different next weekend trust me
Felt pretty warm here today out of the wind.

MIA, did you manage to measure the snow depth at any point yesterday? I intended to do so myself but it completely slipped my mind!
My guesstimate is that we ended up with about 5cm or so round these parts, perhaps slightly more.
Bish
We had about 8cm measured on a table at school that is protected from the wind, more than I thought we'd had really.

Actually managed more here than the last cold spell. Last night the showers all weakened just a few miles to my east though. Happens every time. Little and often seems to be the Stoke way. Biggest fall of the winter was only 10 cm back in December.
I can't fathom the weakening as they had a decent fall in Telford according to this thread.

Hard to say with the drifting. A few cm maybe. Probably the second largest fall of the winter here. Some fairly deep drifts but also some surfaces blown clear by the wind. Snow has melted quite a bit on roads and pavements but little if any melt on other surfaces.
Sounds similar to here, not as much as the 1st beast but then that was over a few days. Great for mid-March though.

I left last Christmas. I know they weren’t closed yesterday although Walton closed before lunch.
