Problem is the meteociel charts don't show the bigger picture. The view from the pole would be much better.
see here:

It certainly has been fun. Here's to the next cold spell!
-
Excellent photos, John.
We had a pair of them in our garden last week, and they did nothing but chase the other small birds away from the feeding trays etc, including a couple of times a Robin.
-
Still quite misty here, was very foggy last night. Snow continuing to thaw.
-
Stunning stuff.
-
Snow still continuing to thaw here, its got very foggy though, visibility less than half a mile.
-
Gas, and snow ploughs... I live on the wrong part of Dartmoor!
Whereabouts on dartmoor are you Matt?
-
Got very murky here, quite foggy in fact, visibility about 1 km if that.
-
It seems whenever we have wind from that direction it has difficulty igniting, when it does ignite it goes out after about 20 seconds and goes on like that.
Jase
Wind blowing into the flue perhaps?
-
Well really enjoyed yesterday, but a thaw in well underway here with the snow seeming very wet. Temp is 3.2C which is the first time it has got above freezing in a while.
now it's warmed up it Also seems my boiler has fixed itself!
Jase
It might just have have been frozen and now its thawed out.
-
The snow was certainly far wetter this time around, the ground is wet on surfaces that have been swept clear of snow as opposed to last week when thing were relatively dry underneath.
-
Getting brighter here, very murky though.
-
The snow level seems to have been lower the further north/east you went, which was largely as it was forecasted I believe?
-
Had about 1-2 cms here, already melting though.
-
Do you know what your temp is? Despite it seeming like proper snow now (instead of sleet), my 7 day covering has dissapeared and everything is just very wet.
No idea, SS. Like you, quite a bit of last weeks' had thawed especially of roofs etc. but had remained largely intact on the lawns where it hadn't been disturbed.
-
Really looking wintry outside again now, considering how much of last weeks' had thawed from a lot of surfaces
-
Snow remaining very light here, and not settling at all- the ground is far too wet fom the rain earlier. Temp still 0.0C.
It is certainly settling here
-
had about half to 1 cm here now
-
Snowing quite heavily here now, surfaces that were clear starting to cover again
-
lovely pic Mullender
-
A light covering on most uncovered surfaces here now
-
The Taunton area seemed to be in the precip 'shadow' of the Blackdown Hills, which were getting a lot of snow, leading to only rain with a bit of sleet here until about an hour or so ago when it turned to fine snow
-
The rain earlier only seemed to accelerate the thaw even further, as even before it started, the snow was thawing quicker than on previous days
-
a real dusting on uncovered surfaces now

Got this baby to our south west:
Photo taken at around 4pm.
A few distant rumbles coming from it as well.
