it's rumbling more and more now, I hope I see something decent. What abouts are you then Suffolkboy?
-
now rumbling. A crack of thunder woke me up 10 minutes ago, it was loud. I thought it was supposed to arrive later today, or is there another area?
-
no it's just you lol things will kick off 3am onwards I'd have thought and then get better from then on
-
they're elevated storms which the GFS won't show as having high cape and LI remember
-
those charts look tasty, I'm right under the orange on the map. In response to Matty8 there doesn't have to be high cape/LI showing as that is only giving a forcast of what it expects at a certain height. I expect the storms to be pretty widespread given the intensity. Also as you can notice on the sat loops the clouds are shooting up and forming rapidly so that proves there's alot of energy present. I'm looking forward to it all. Hopefully not just rain all day with the occasional heavy burst.
-
it's worrying me because the cloud has exploded within the last few hours, I wonder how much more it'll develop
-
I think I'm in a good spot for anything

Well finally I might see a storm or two. It looks very heavy on the GFS, Is this realistic as the GFS under or overplays systems. Is this more of a wet system with embedded storms?
-
everything is die-ing out tbh,
-
this is very impressive

Welcome BHound. Hope you enjoy your stay, as long as you keep outa Osbourne's way (crazy but friendly mod) You'll learn alot here , it will be frustrating and fun at the same time. The storm season is the best.

well has been snowing here since like 7am and hasnt stopped, the heavier band heading my way would be nice, hopefully that won't decay, please don't decay
-
if you want to add me to msn I can give you very clear webcam live streaming of our snow
-
snowing heavu here atm, footage to follow
-
Well like I was just saying to Nanu, looks as if it's heading this way, which would make sense seeing as everything is spinning, I'm pretty sure the LP is centred near me as the pressure outside is 997mb which is lower than many areas, fingers crossed
Also temp has dropped to 0c with dewpoint of -2. So looking better
-
Hopefully I do aswell Nanu, seems to be swinging my way, fingers crossed eyy

Doesn't Norwich get snow showers when N - NE winds are blowing, whilst the rest of East Anglians have to watch the radar hoping for a rogue snow shower to creep 30/40 miles inland, which seldom happens and everywhere stays clear and dry apart from Norwich. Stop moaning, Norwich gets it's fair share.
Well said, and exactly what I was saying earlier, Either way, reports of bigger flakes in SE london and Kent are encouraging as that's what I'm looking for. How much you got Mammatus? I reckon about 2 inches here so far
-
but also good for a northerly remember, Norwich and the surrounding area does particularly good in these situations
-
Well the snow here is really small pieces atm, Im hoping for something south of us to pep up which by the latest radar it looks like doing, just to give us a few cms more, nice to see a decent amount back. I was telling my cousin about today last night and he said "when I went to canada it was 50-60 inches deep" I just said "shut up, don't speak to me" God I wish we had their weather
-
don't be stupid, ipswich-ire
-
thanks Steve, most apprecitaed. Hopefully the little sucker will stall to give us a decent amount of snow
-
If we're allowed to ask then I might aswell ask what Steve thinks are my chances of a decent amount, not being funny to anyone else, I like to trust Steve as he can read these kind of situations very well
-
Damn I'm good, I said 8 inches aswell, I feel privilaged to have the same thoughts as Steve who in all fairness is a legend when it comes to these set-ups
