  1. You obviously cant see the Sperrins ! ..and still snow here at 50m asl .. thanks for helping bring it on ...

Binevenagh is in the sperrins babe.4c heavy sleet. Gonna snow tomorrow again I think. (Well last time I checked gfs).Where do you live anyway??
  2. Dunno about you but this is onionse!

    Drizzle!

    Temp: 1.9c

    Dew: 1.1c

Sorry but actually left trouser leg off. It is so irritating, the uppers are -7c right now yet its raining. And ronan could you please tell me where it is snowing and lying right now because neither coleraine limavady or ballymoney has any snow. The closest we have got to snow is stupid hail, we haven't even seen sleet! So stupid.

I bet when I open the curtains inn the morning, there will be snow like 5 fields up. As always.

If its not snowing now its not going to snow at all. So tonight is officually a mega fail. What a let down.

    Snow falling - 150m

    Snow lying - 200m

Omgg omg its actually snowing. Jesus christ look

Gary I think thats the colder air now. Its proper snowing.

    Temp: 0.9c

    Dew point: 0.1c

  3. The dew point is now -2.3c at gweedore so I suppose that is the cold dew points coming inroads now.

Gary how can it be cold and hailing there when the humidity is 96 percent here. The temp is only 2.6c. It must be about 4c there making it impossible for snow.

  4. It still hasn't snowed yet. I don't think its snowing below 150m anywhere. I don't think the proper cold has arrived yet.

I've just checked the data on vasaila ice and the dew point is -2c out west. So it is making in roads now.

    2.7c with a dew of 1.8c

Any wonder it is raining here. No way will we get snow with that. And i'm surprised its sleeting in portstewart when it will be even warmer there. I will report back when I see snow. Bound to see it beforr midnight.

  5. Still raining. Instead of dropping the dew point has actually risen. It was supposed to be dropping by now.

Temp 3/2. Ughh its not even showing signs of dropping either. I think those showers saturate the air. Imagine if all those showers fell as snow it'd be pretty heavy.

Surely it will be snowing by 7? The -6c uppers will be in by then.

Edit: 5:54pm: negative dew points are just to the west of derry so should reach here soon.

  6. Yes so can I. I think maybe in the next 30 minutes or two the dew point will be below freezing. Perhaps at the back end of the next shower I will see snow.

    Temp now. 3.4c
    Dew point now 0.6c

The temperature is actually dropping rapidly. Like 0.1c degree every minute or two.

Ok this is mad. The temp is now 3.1c and the dew point is 0.4c

16:17: a black cloud is near me and it is getting here slowly. Temp is now 3c but drop off has slowed, hopefully this shower has snow in it!

16:24: just started raining and the temp has risen to 3.3c with the dew point at 1c. Oh what a bore. Posted Image Maybe when the heavier bit comes over me.

16:30: Ok that shower just served to draw in milder air. Now 3.7c and a dew point of 1.6c. LOL. How pathetic. I would not be surprised to see some hail though. I think it will tumble like a rocket once the shower goes though. Based on my obvservation the snowline is 200m.

Does this mean they expect 1 to 3cm at low levels tonight?

Wintry showers will continue south on Tuesday morning, and with temperatures falling, roads are likely to turn icy in places. Sleet and snow showers may be heavy at times, particularly over the north of Scotland, with accumulations of more than 10 cm in places. Snow cover across low lying areas will be mostly patchy and transient, but 1-3 cm are possible early on Tuesday across parts of Northern Ireland and northeast Scotland. Otherwise, sleet or rain are more likely near windward coasts.

Over England and Wales in particular, settling snow will largely be confined to hills over 200 m, and even here coverage will be temporary.

The public should be aware of these wintry hazards and the potential for difficult driving conditions.

This is an update to the Alert that was first issued on Sunday to introduce the risk of some small accumulations of snow to low levels across Northern Ireland and northeast Scotland.

  7. Na didn't see it and it hasn't updated yet on their website. I'll believe it when i see it.

Well it showed snow from 6pm no rain. But I don't think it will snow right beside the water on the immediate coast.Temp is 6/1c. Not dropped yet but will drop in the next hour with the introduction of colder air. Can see showers forming now.
  8. No I don't need to step anything back. You need to stop getting the wrong image from those english posters. Yes it won't snow in England but it will most certainly snow here. Every single model including bbc newsline forecasts us snow. So it will be coming. Dew points have just started to drop too.

Now 6/2 back home from 4/4.
