  1. BBC Weather for the Week Ahead Christmas Hill snow possible north Scotland Heavy rain could bring localised flooding to south England https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/64033692
  2. Sunday 25 Dec - Tuesday 3 Jan Confidence is unusually low for this whole period. The most probable scenario has cold conditions affecting northern areas and pushing south into milder air at times, however there is significant uncertainty in the location and movement of the boundary between the regimes. Any milder conditions are likely to be accompanied by wetter weather. Periods of rain are likely to run west-to-east across the country, bringing a threat of snow where they meet the colder air. Temperatures likely to be cold in the north and milder further south in general, however a downward trend is likely across all areas with average to below average temperatures for the country as a whole most likely for this period overall. Wednesday 4 Jan - Wednesday 18 Jan Confidence remains low at the start of the year. There is a signal for generally settled conditions, interspersed between periods of wet and windy weather, and a usual chance of snow. Temperatures are likely to be around normal, with some colder conditions perhaps developing again around mid January https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk
  3. 1.0c to the 19th 3.5c below the 61 to 90 average 3.8c below the 81 to 10 average
  4. A dry day so far with mostly clear skies allowing good spells of sunshine along with a light south westerly breeze Temp 6.5c with a low overnight of 5.2c
  5. A mostly cloudy and very mild night with a light south westerly breeze Temp 8.1c
  6. BBC weather for the week ahead not really showing anything overly cold over the next 10 days for the vast majority, maybe some snow and colder at times in Scotland, but that's not uncommon for the time of year https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/64033690
  7. Saturday 24 Dec - Monday 2 Jan Confidence is unusually low for the Christmas weekend; a north/south divide with cold air, wintry showers and increased risk of more significant snow in the north, and milder conditions with rain and showers in the south, is likely, but where the boundary will be is very uncertain. Eventually, as we head towards the New Year, the colder conditions are more likely to come to dominate, with wintry showers in the north and potential for a more settled spell to develop. This would bring below average temperatures, potential for areas of freezing fog with widespread overnight frosts, and very low temperatures given any snow cover. Towards the end of the period, there are signs of a trend towards more changeable weather, with an upturn in temperatures. Tuesday 3 Jan - Tuesday 17 Jan Confidence is relatively low during early and mid-January. Temperatures overall are most likely to be around average though there is a greater likelihood of cold spells compared to normal. There is likely to be a mixture of conditions with some settled interludes bringing overnight frosts and morning fog. These interspersed with more unsettled spells with outbreaks of rain and stronger winds. Snow remains possible at times, most likely over hills in the north but could fall to lower levels at times. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/forecast/uk

  13. BBC Weather for the Week Ahead Much milder Wet and Windy Risk of local flooding Unsettled into Christmas https://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/features/64014198
  14. Friday 23 Dec - Sunday 1 Jan Early in the period and towards Christmas conditions are likely to be less cold than of late although a north south divide is expected to develop. Temperatures will remain rather cold in the north with wintry showers likely and a risk of overnight frosts. Towards the south it will remain milder with temperatures close to, or rather above average. Spells of rain and stronger winds are likely at times, particularly in central and southern areas. Away from the north, any snow will likely stay confined to higher levels, with perhaps some low-level snow on the boundary of the divide. Towards New Year, there is potential for a more settled spell to bring overnight frosts and morning fog, before a trend towards changeable but probably more milder conditions. Monday 2 Jan - Monday 16 Jan Confidence is relatively low during early and mid-January.
