  1. I have a feeling there is going to be a few fuel emergencies tonight. I would both love and hate to be a pilot in weather like this.
  2. Have been watching FR24 and almost every 4th flight is going around! they are going to have to close the airports soon!
  3. OH has just phoned from London. The coach company he commutes with have been promising all day that they would be running as normal. They were saying that at 5pm. They have now been informed that actually they have cancelled all coaches and left nearly 3 coach loads of people stranded. I know the weather can't be helped but they could have at least not PROMISED they would be running a service so people could take precautions. He's now having to battle his way home on the trains which are barely functioning. He wants to leave it an hour or so to let the rush die down, but I've told him to go now as it is only going to get worse and more than likely they'll top running altogether. That was the best advice to give, right?
  4. We have pretty constant sustained strong winds now. The clouds are practically running past.
  5. Just been out to deliver the neighbours cards. My top blew up just as a bus went past. It wasn't even a light top, it's a wooly jumper!
  6. Going to go out this morning to do all the last bits and bobs and then batten down the hatches later. Stay safe everyone and remember if it feels risky to go out, don't. That is what instinct is there for!
  7. Windy and torrential rain. BBQ anyone? I think the only consolation about the upcoming storm is that less people SHOULD be out and about. So hopefully injuries will be at a minimum.
  8. Well it certainly has blown a hooligan all night. Got woken up several times by the house shaking.
  9. I guess it hasn't hit us in Medway yet. It's blowy and rainy but nothing out of the ordinary. Lovely listening to it though.
  10. Blimey. Man United and Stoke temporarily called off due to the squall line going through. They had some serious hail! Looking forward to it here.
  11. It's picking up quite a bit here now and it's not even due until at least 9pm! Stay safe out there people, stay snuggled up inside instead!
  12. Our family Christmas day is Christmas jumper dress code. Plus I'm helping cooking. I need it to be cold so I don't die of heat exhaustion!
  13. Still forecast for double figures temperature wise for Christmas Day. I can handle no snow, but it should at least be cold. God forbid it is too warm for the Christmas jumper!
  14. Looks like we're due for near constant rain for the next 3 days. If only it were cold enougb to be snow *sigh*
  15. Long range forecast for my area suggests double figures temperatures for Christmas Day. This will not do!
  16. A full on proper all nighter? I'm sad to say not since 1999. We've had some day time storms but they have been short lived and certainly nothing to make them memorable. I miss the MCS's of the old days.
  17. Can't link on my phone but check kentonline, that is what they are reporting. Take a look at the new red areas on the environment agency website too.
