  1. Gusts of 35mph. Seems so much more than that.
  2. They said it has be exceptionally cold this winter. I keep a bit of Greece with me by cooking up a good Stifado and keftedes every now and then. I miss a good gyro though!
  3. Have you ever been to Cardston? I have some family friends who live in Cochrane (I think???) and are considering going down south a bit to Cardston.
  4. Kalimera Konstantinos, My Uncle and Aunt live on Thassos and the other week they had a random hail and snow shower that fell on their village only, not in the mountains or anywhere else. Strange. The weather in Greece I always find fascinating, you can get two extremes only a few miles apart. I do miss your country and hope to be back soon.
  5. Sorry if I'm being stupid but those maps only show 8mm at most of snow, so why is that cause for massive excitement?
  6. Well if wild, made up speculation lady at work is anything to go by, come the end of the month it will be like Antarctica down here.
  7. Would someone ever so kindly and simply explain to me how to read that GFS thingymabob?
  8. A bat flew in my face when i was ickle and I haven't liked them ever since (the image of the bats face coming towards mine has been burned into my brain). We see them flying around in the evening from a distance and that's enough for me. Of course i wish no ill on our bats and they deserve to be protected.
  9. I don't thinking making a hole in my fence for hogs would be appreciated! We have massive farm fileds out the back so i would imagine that is their natural environment. might buy some hog houses for my parents though.
  10. Ah I love hoggys! We used to get loads in my parents home, but there was a sudden drop off and they hardly ever see them anymore. I would be interested in one of those things but I don't think they could into my garden in the first place as we have panel fencing on all 3 sides.
  11. Just very fine hazy rain this morning. The type that makes hair go frizzy. It created that annoying effect on the roads where the dirt is constantly flicked onto your windscreen so you're constantly having to clean it. Like this. http://us.123rf.com/400wm/0/0/steverts/steverts1008/steverts100800026/7548022-dirty-windshield-in-winter.jpg
  12. It's normally pretty hot where I live in the summer, so I'm happy. Last time I went to Eastbourne I never heard so much public farting in my life. Old people either not realising they were doing it or not caring. That is totally serious!
  13. To the passengers it looks like a flash of blinding white light is going across their window. In places with regualr thunderstorms such as the tropics, the incidence of planes getting hit by lightening goes up to 6 times a year per plane.
  14. How accurate are they compared with similar organisations though?
  15. You can certainly feel temperatures have taken a dive the last few nights. Bitterly chilly in the evenings.
  16. You think the whole article is some sort of Global Warming 'believer' agenda?
  17. Not to mention they get hit by lightening on a regular basis and don't crash.
  18. http://www.futuretimeline.net/ Events are based on credible research and expert knowledge. Makes for interesting reading.
  19. Sorry, what I meant was snow wise. In my area at least we had hardly any snow at the expected times and nothing 'wintery' really happened other than coldness. The bam! we gets loads of snow in April after having a warm spell.
  20. Our April snow lasted about a week, with 3 days of heavy snow. At it's worst it was knee height.
  21. For those who want snow I wouldn't get too disheartened. Only 2 years ago we had heavy snow in April in the SE after a pretty mild winter. The same thing may happen again.
