    There's an insane frequency of sheet lightning to my SSW/SW now, several flashes a second. I can't work out whether it's just reflections in the cloud cover from the Wales stuff which is now 50+ miles to my NW (the wrong direction) or whether there's other stuff kicking off further south now. Nothing on radar or lightning maps but it must be highly elevated. Anyone further S/W who can confirm?

    There’s some very powerful lightning and explosive thunder coming your way. And it feels warmer now than it was before the storm hit.

    Can hear thunder to the SE from Wenlock, and there’s also very dark clouds in the shrewsbury direction. Looks like it’s all about to kick off. 28 and very humid here.

    Yep - shame there doesn’t seem to be much behind it. We’ve just missed quite a few storms in the last few days with them either fizzling a few miles east (yesterday) or tracking a few miles north of us. Hopefully more in store for later....

    Rumbling nicely all around South Shropshire with cells to my East and South / SW

    Lots of rumbling and some visible lightning from about 8 miles away - this one is active and fast developing. There was nothing here half an hour ago.

    Not really - I have friends and colleagues in much warmer climates who have been rained in for days on end recently. And their lawns are all much greener than mine.

    It wasn’t there when I looked! Very rapid development. Will enjoy just watching the sky in this weather. 30 degrees here.

    Some interesting convective cloudscapes to my SW down towards Herefordshire and Powys. Looks like the beginning of a cell developing near Knighton.

    Is anyone in mid wales? Sat in my garden watching this lightning 60+ miles away and hearing the faintest rumbles.

    I’m in Wenlock in an elevated SSW facing position. Frequent distant flashes to the SW probably the cells showing up in the Knighton area.

    Looks like cells springing up off the coast near Ilfracombe also. Is this the start of things kicking off?

    I'm sitting in a SSW facing elevated position and can see lightning anywhere down across the Marches and into South Wales. This is a really favourable setup for us tonight.

    Yet 6 miles away in Wenlock in an elevated south facing position I’ve had hours of thunder and lightning between 0200-0400 and this morning from about 0600. Still nothing in Telford? I thought from the radar some of these recent cellls were tracking to my North.
