  1. Yes, i'll give it a shot, although i'll stick to 14 days rather than 20. I cant promise to get it out today or even this week as I'm away with work atm. Where would you like me to post this forecast?
  2. I am giving my opinion... there are 2 sides to an argument. Whilst most of you are on the pro side, there are actually people on the other side of the fence! If you dont like it, that's not my fault im afraid.
  3. I think that term also refers to those who believe in long range forecasting too... 'stuck inside their box to understand'.
  4. There's nothing wrong with admitting to an inaccurate forecast. I've done so myself on a few occasions and I applaud it. But lets look at the facts... we have a 'long range forecast' that is being adjusted along the way, because it's wrong. If the forecast is adjusted every few weeks, it cannot be a lrf. I could make a 'long range forecast' for the Summer of 2020 and adjust it every week. Just prior to June 2020, I could then make my final adjustment and claim my sucess at forecasting 9 years in advance! There are far too many variables in lrf's for them to hold any worth or value. Yes, I dont mind doing so... When would you like this forecast to cover?
  5. So basically we have a long range forecast, that needs to be adjusted every few weeks because of it's inaccuracies... In my view, if you want to label your forecast as long range, you should make the prediction and stick to it (whether it's right or wrong). If you cant stick to it and need to adjust every couple of weeks, surely it's only a short/medium term report.
  6. Surprise surprise, my posts have been censored again... it's a joke people, lighten up!
  7. Finally, one person joins the fight against long rangers! :-)
  8. Hi, I am indeed a forecaster (despite the doubters!). Unfortunately, i cant really help in terms of a general forecast for the next few months. I dont believe it is possible to make such predictions with any degree of accuracy. I think it would be safe to say we'll see a few settled spells this Summer. Maybe some high 20C's or early 30C's peak heat. That's the most you'll get out of me guys in terms of a prediction :-p
  9. Well i'd rather it'd be right than wrong... It's just more evidence towards the guess work theory! I am pleased in that new report it mentions experimental forecasts etc etc... that's a start!
  10. That's why i used 'is' rather than 'was' ;-) I only mentioned June, not the rest of Summer.
  11. Is that an admission the first month of netweather's long range forecast is wrong?
  12. What happened to netweather's long range forecast for core summer heat expected in June? This seems to have dissapeared in the new breakdown? Dont tell my clients that!
  13. Ahhh apologies, I havent seen the breakdown forecast before... i'll read it and make comments as the weeks progress.
  14. But that's what im saying... i know not to trust long range forecasting in terms of planning my summer activites... but the public dont! This is why weather forecasters get it in the neck, because the public read into these grand headlines, for example 'shades of 1976', then when it never occurs, the finger points at 'weather forecasters' in general. Long range forecasts should be kept in the background where they can tried and tested. As i've said before... in terms of the netweather forecast, its a sensationalist headline with a vague forecast written within. All credit to them for doing it (if they want to try, fair enough), but I stick to my guns on this one.
  15. I can see where you are coming from... (i think!). For me, it's just all very vague and misleading to the public, as i've said before in previous threads before they were censored and shut down :-s I just believe all the facts should be layed down on the table, not in this airy fairy way that holds no substence.
  16. Do we really want weather forecasts where members of the public have a different interpretation of them... in my opinion of course not! I say stick your neck on the line and stop sitting on the fence! Members of the public want to know exactly whats going to happen, they're not weather forecasters, they dont understand.
  17. I certainly havent finished yet... that said i'm away working now for a week, so wont be able to delight you with my talents for a decent argument :-p
  18. This is the first time i've used this site, where is the PM i'm looking for?
  19. Plucking a thread from a forum, without knowing the whole story or background. I get the general idea and believe its fiction.
  20. Tbh. Its a little difficult to understand, given the context its written in.
  21. Finally, thanks for that... now lets get back to the issue of long range forecasting and this core summer heat in June!
  22. I wouldn't rule out giving some sort of generalised forecast between 7 and 14 days ahead perhaps, as long as you paid me ;-) Nothing more than that tbh in terms of time frames as it's simply not possible. My forecasting abilities are not based on guess work.
  23. Do you guys not read my posts? I said 'generalised view'... not specific view or hour by hour view... generalised! Are you sure you dont all work for the Daily Express as you're mis quoting me now!
