absolutely incredible structure on this. The photos I have seen on Facebook from a distance look stunning. Happy chasing guys
-
Hell yea guys. One week and one day till flights! Canny wait!
-
Still a tad early yet, does this help.
There, will be and there wont be, the possible opportunity for some possibly light or even heavy thunder storms which may or may not have embedded tornado's which in turn might or might not have large hail stones within.
Where?
Well, it might or might not happen in Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado
But.... early signs point their way towards Eastern Kansas.
Does that help?
This helps ENOURMOUSLY lol! Guess I should just be patient and sit it out. Can't help to be getting excited though!

-
How the hell am I going to afford these flights? They are mega bucks!
-
what lightning detection are you using?
-
like the storm chasers that go to the US say, you can get thunderstorms as low temperatures, he explained at 7 degrees he was chasing serve thunderstorms..temperature is not always the key...
Its all sheer based storms. Temperature does not really play a part in this.

Between 10:30 and 11:30 I watched a nice little storm with frequent lightning moving Eastwards through Bury St Edmunds. Lots of IC and some really yellow CG's. Could not see the towers due to some low level cover but all in all a very good night of covective activity.

This is great. My Mum is so worried about me doing this. She just does not understand!
-
Will guests be allowed to use the Skype phone at all?
-
Just had to update my medical information with go walk about after my eye injury!
Any problems with them? I had serious problems with the medical screening company. Complained to the MD and eventually got covered.

huge anvil over the top of me now with some stunning convective activity below it. Such photogenic stuff here folks

According to the Netweather 5 min radar, there are a lot of storms producing thunder and ligheting
Midlands
1 – South East of Hereford – Heading Northeast – Looking like a direct hit on Ledbury and Malvern if it hold together
North England
2 – Couple of cells south of Worksop heading northeast towards Retford
East England
3 – Cell southwest of Stamford heading for Stamford
4 – Cell east of Peterbrough heading north east towards Wisebec
5 – Cell east of Spalding heading out to sea
6 – Cell South of Cambridge heding towards Newmarket
7 – Cell South of Newmarket heading towards Bury St Edmunds
8 – Cell heading out to North Sea over Southwold
South East (plenty here)
9 – Cell East of Bishops Stortford – Heading East
10 – Cell East of Harlow – Heading North East
11 – Two cells heading out of London North East over Chigwell and Tottenham
12 – Powerful Cell north west of High Wycombe heading toward Great Missenden
13 – Cell about to head north east over the Isle of Sheppy
14 – Cell passing eastwards to the north of Margate out to seas
This was looking at the Radar about 13:59
Some cells are weakening and some showing more strikes.. just shows its quite wide spread today for the south and its only 2 oclock
This sucks that I am stuck at work for another hour. Just want to race home and go for a little drive!

Well done Owen! Will there be the returning chasers discount for 2013?
-
real crap for Suffolk today. Such potential this morning with early convection and good surface heating throughout the day. Alas, just rain. Not even a rumble! Some awesome cloudscapes today. All hope lost now as covective potential has gone. CB's have flattened out to leave a pleasent evening. Thank god i'm off to the states in 6 weeks to chase!
-
Can anyone please shed some light on if East Anglia are going to get hit later? Some good convective activity with some rain showers but that's it.
-
first real downpour of the day here in Bury St Eds. Hoping more intense things will hit us later on
-
This is so frustarting I'm literally half a mile away from some good intense rain + thunder which I can hear! Ahh well only the start of the season...
Why don't you go chase then! Half a mile is nothing!

Would love to hear another forecast. I can't read the charts. Too thick!
