  10. Leeds - fog at first rapidly cleared. A lot of cirrus/cirroustratus and very hot hazy sunshine! easily 21 degrees here already! Awaiting the forthcoming storm....High cloud steadily increasing. Very humid in Leeds city centre at 9.23 on August 15th 2012
  11. Met office are always issuing the same forecast! Always negative! Why do they always start with "Unsettled or showers" Becoming hot Mixed weather conditions Tuesday 14th August 2012 Best in the south Am unseasonably deep area of low pressure south west of England will be moving north spreading an area of heavy rain up from the south across all parts of the country on Wednesday. Strong gales are possible from southwest England through western Wales into the Irish sea. Lots of dry weather comes in from Friday as temperatures are expected to reach 30C in the south this weekend which could trigger some heavy thunderstorms. Friday 17/08/12 Central and southern parts of England will have a dry and warm day with sunny spells. The rest of the country is looking cloudy and wet with spells of rain though brighter with heavy showers for Northern Ireland. The rain tends to linger in the north and west in the evening and night. Expect highs of 19 to 26C. Saturday 18/08/12 It becomes hot today. Expect occasional showers across Scotland, northwest England and Wales. The rest of England looks fine and dry with some sunshine after early low cloud and mistiness soon disperse. Dry tonight for most areas. Expect maximum temperatures of 20 to 29C. Sunday 19/08/12 Another hot day to come across England and Wales. Expect a good deal of dry, sunny weather today but there could be a few isolated, heavy showers in the south and across Scotland. There is a risk of some heavy, thundery showers across central and eastern parts of England in the evening. Maximum temperatures of 20 to 30C. Monday 20/08/12 Rain is expected across Scotland and Northern Ireland today. Most of England and Wales will be dry with sunny spells and cloud. Expect top temperatures of 18 to 24C. Tuesday 21/08/12 Rain is expected across Scotland and Northern Ireland today. Most of England and Wales will be dry with sunny spells and cloud. Expect top temperatures of 18 to 24C. Wednesday 22/08/12 Confidence is low but models suggest rain comes in across western Britain and spreads east very late in the day. Expect high temperatures of 19 to 26C.
  12. 13.00 - Clouds bubbling up even further Met Office predicting showers later!
  13. I work in Leeds - cloudy this morning but the sun is trying to break through. Very warm and humid today - hot when the sun appears ! A few dark clouds building over the city centre. About 20 degrees at the moment Very warm overnight. 17 degrees at 6.30am in Rochdale!
  14. Id like it to be like Autumn 2002 when it was sunny until November!
  15. UK Outlook for Wednesday 29 Aug 2012 to Wednesday 12 Sep 2012: Unsettled conditions are likely to prevail through this period, though fine spells are possible too. Temperatures overall look more likely to be on the low side of the average for this time of year, whilst total rainfall during the period is more likely to be above average than below. There is also a signal for less sunshine than normal for much of the UK. . The Met office are saying that they are expecting a lot of rain and cloud with below average sunshine and low temperatures for the first half of September very negative. Is this what most of the models are currently predicting? When will netweather produce an Autumn 2012 forecast?
  16. Thunderstorm over Leeds with lightning and thunder at 13.33 on 3rd August 2011 Rain at 13.36 - LS1 6AE
  17. 9.49 - Leeds = Massive cumulinumbus clouds and towers building over West Yorkshire to S and SW of Leeds city centre. I have never seen anything like it in the UK - more similar to storms you would expect in the tropics I expect thunderstorms here later on today! I think it may already be raining over the Wakefield area and Pennine regions. There is some sunshine in between the unstable clouds. I would estimate that the tops of the cloud are easily 28000 to 30 000 ft maybe higher in places! Very interesting weather ahead I think!
