Well those two showers South of Cambridge look stunning in the sunset from here.
wont bother with a picture as it never does it justice.

Woke up as I was too hot, thought I heard rumbling, check radar and there’s a storm on my doorstep LOL.
Just passed through to our east though, Luton as usual gets a direct hit.

Wow lightning and cracks of thunder now
Yes can see the Towers from right up here. Impressive.

Still rumbling away to my NW, stopped raining 45 mins ago! Great stringy lighting in the clouds and that surprise really loud shotgun thunder when the storm has passed!
-
Got a bit bonbarded by hail during that LOL

Oh my effing Christ. Heaviest shower I’ve ever been in. Hail smacking the window. Unreal. Car alarms going off everywhere etc.

Finally. It’s defeated the Leighton Buzzard storm shield! Pretty mental now!

Nice overhead flash & bang here in LB, rain heavy but not silly.
Freezing a few days ago, didn’t expect a thunderstorm in 3 days!

Bit lively here in LB. Trying to get to sleep! No electric activity but very squally and heavy rain.

The December 90 one was the first heavy snow I had been in for years, possibly 87, it was my first term at Poly in Stoke. Remember getting excited watching it get heavier out of the student union window LOL. Just moved up from Bournemouth, the snow desert!

I remember the February 1991 snowfall much more clearly than the 87 one, but both snowfalls were heavy and long lasting in central London.
A few songs remind me of that period.
God Enigma reminds me of the start of the Gulf War. Staring out of a student flat in Stoke.

Brilliant storm here, just finished. Tiny bits of circulation in the lower darker clouds as they passed over. Great forked/ribbony lightning and loud thunder. Get ready Bedford & Cambs!!

Wow looks impressive over Bedford, must be getting close to flooding. Agree it’s very mild. Just been for a very sweaty run, with feint bizarre flashes of distant lightning now and again. Cooling off outside in the light drizzle.

Down in LB can see flashes from the cell south of Luton. LB shield holding up well as per usual

Wife had to stop with a few other cars on way back from MK, when that ‘zit’ on the radar passed over her. Apparently rain was so heavy the cars were crawling on a dual carriageway.

Literally looking down the top edge of the storm system from my window. Just about avoided it.
Storms love that path from Berks/Hants through NW London/Herts. Must be a clever reason for it.....
