  10. There was a lovely red sunset over West Middlesex this evening. Simply a prefect end to a warm day! Cloud building in the east to night temp due to drop to 17c. Greenman Middlesex, Uk.
  11. Time 13:59 pm - The sun is shining, the sky has an 80% coverage of cloud, Altostratus, Stratocumulus, Cumulus and odd patches of Nimbostratus, which keep giving short sharp showers from time to time. The cloud base is between 2.000 to 4.000 ft and moving in a WWS to EEN direction. The outside temp. is 17c (63f) and inside the office here a high 28.5c (83f). The wind has dropped since last night and is only lightly moving the trees. *No Met Office Bad weather warnings as yet by fax.* Greenman.... Middlesex, Uk.
  12. Thank goodness, tonight is a little cooler than the past few nights. The temp, here in the office has dropped to about 28c or 83f and a lot fresher as a whole. Sadly no star watching tonight as the is a thick covering Nimbostratus with light patchy rain moving slowly north. There is still hardly any breeze and the aircraft from Heathrow are now no longer flying over head. All seems quite on the Uk lightning map, even Europe is tonight a lot quiter than past nights. Looking out of the window here, there is a light mist in the air to the east towards Osterley Park and Brent Valley. Looking south I can still see some flicking lights south of the Thames but little else beyond that. Due east there was a nice fireworks display from the direction of Brentford earlier. Which reflected perfectly off the low Nimbostratus clouds which are well below 6,000 ft at present. All in all it looks like it going to be a much quiter night than late. Greenman Middlesex, Uk.
  13. Over night was quiet here in the office, with a inside temp of 30c and about 80% humidity. The fax has just spat out a Met Office, flash weather warning for heavy rain affecting the far eastern counties like kent, London etc. this is valid until 9am this morning. Sadly I have not been able to track any storms over night as my PC network was down 'real bummer!' Hopefully today this rain may yield a storm or two, heres hoping! Please have safe trips to work. Greenman Middlesex.
  14. There is now a light breeze beginning to rise in the south. The moon has now risen due east (half moon waxing). The lighting strikes on the french coast have move north along to the Dutch Coast and at lease one new CG strike has been recorded off the french coast near Cherbourg. Is this the beginning of a storm moving north towards the English coast? Only time will tell! The lights on the horizon are also starting to flicker and all is quite from Heathrow. With as yet no nights flights taking off and flying over head. I have spotted at least one shooting star this evening in the south about 30 degrees to the horizon running east to west. But the risen moon will now block out all new shooting stars as it rises. As you can tell all is quite in my office, with the only rumbles coming from my tummy! Greenman Middlesex.
  15. Dear dodgeredee, I am a local government office with the Saturday short straw! Manning a phone among other boring things! dodgeredee is that the new Wembly Stadium on your pic? I can see that thing from the back of my house in Harrow. Only a matter of time before the thing takes a lightining strike! As it's a bit on the big side! Greenman Middlesex.
  16. Its Saturday evening, 21:59pm, 7th August and the office is 'hot!' The temp is up to 30c or 86f. The humidity is very high, here in Middlesex. With 10 hours left of this night shift, I am not looking forward to the long night ahead of me! From my window here on the forth floor I can clearly see the street lights of Hounslow and Twickenham and further to the south, Kingston and beyond. The aircraft from Heathrow are taking off on 28 left and heading in a north-east direction towards Ealing and North London. Other aircraft can clearly be seen crossing the sky south to north. The sky is filled the ever-present light from thosands of Middlesex street lights. Which blocks out nearly all but a few stars. From looking at the Uk lightning map there has been one of two SG lighting strikes along the french side of the channel. The rest of the map is clear, not like Thursday evening. When the map was alive with SG strikes covering nearly a third of the Uk. Is this the lull before the storm? Here's hoping a storm may kick off tomorrow and give us yet another cracking evening of storms! Good Night from Greenman Middlesex.
  17. About 2pm today a few rumble along with heavy Cumulonimbus cloud to the west over Bucks. By 3.15pm a large Cumulonimbus storm cell was building to the south-east over South London. Which hit Middlesex between 3.30 pm and 3.45pm with cloud to ground lighting strikes over Ealing, Hanwell, Brentford, Hounslow. The Cell moved off in a north-west direction towards Bucks with further CG strikes over Southall, Greenford, Northolt, Uxbridge, Harefield, Ruislip. By 4.30pm the main cell had move off leaving heavy rain which stopped about 5pm. This cell then was tracked on the net where it continued in a north-west direction. By 8.15pm was over the West Midlands heading for Liverpool, Blackpool and North Wales. Finished tracking the storm cell at 8.45pm GMT. Greenman Middlesex
