  1. Possibly the reddest sky I have ever seen, would have taken a picture but my phone has run out of battery, always the way!
  2. Anyone know what the situation is when there's a storm directly over the tower and there's people up in it?
  3. I think there is a thunderstorm actually forming over the Eiffel tower!
  4. http://www.earthcam.com/france/paris/ VERY ominous in Paris. Flashes of lightning visible on this live webcam
  5. Thanks mate, I'm more based over at 'theweatheroutlook' nice to see some new faces
  6. A lot of storms now breaking out over North-West France. This is definitely not finished by a long shot.
  7. Gust of 73mph just reported from Nantes which is in the middle of that storm in north-west France.
  8. Quick note. If you are unfortunate enough to miss the possible thunderstorms then you can catch some foreign ones tonight on this webcam. http://www.earthcam.com/france/paris/
  9. That's a good point, eg. Thundersnow. Although isn't that mainly down to frictional disturbances?
  10. Storms can happen at them temperatures. I've witnessed storms at a temperature of 14C, heat aids convention yes, but it isn't always necessary
  11. A lot of convection happening over North-Western France, keep your chins up!
  12. Hi guys, I'm new to this thread, mainly based over at 'theweatheroutlook' but came over here because it's interesting what people are saying about this set up. Not sure what will happen tonight, but as someone else mentioned, there is a probability that a lot of the convection will get going 8pm onwards when the air becomes more moist and prone to convection. With storms brewing over Western France close to the centre of the low pressure at the moment, the prognosis is that most of the convection will appear over the same area and slowly but surely that precipitation and the unstable airmass will push over the channel towards the UK. Now if anyone is interested in a time when the storms will approach and make landfall here in the sunny isles then you are looking at 11pm onwards. But my guess is as good as anyone else's.

Of course it totally eclipses what Cumbria saw yesterday...

    Buntingford, Herfordshire Snow.

Okay, it's nowhere near as deep as the North West and Wales but it holds a record down here as possibly the deepest for many decades in March.
