  1. Has it been called already? Who does so? I read an article on the BBC a few days ago saying it had been called on the ninth - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-14945773 Has it gained from the 15th to the 16th after that drop on the 15th? I can see losses and gains on this animation for the 16th http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/CT/animate.arctic.color.0.html
  2. Is that good or bad JACKONE? Sorry as much as I read up on these charts I still can't get my head round it and only look at the colours (shame) and that looks awfully warm to me??
  3. Thanks BFTV, I literally just popped over there as I remember there was lots of discussion there and saw the new Refreeze thread! Good stuff Quite early if it has then? Hope there are no dips from here on...
  4. Regarding the Sea Ice... has it levelled out now? Looking at this animation, you can definitely see in the last two frames (days) it is increasing? Unless I'm seeing things... http://polar.ncep.noaa.gov/seaice/nh.html
  5. Compared to last year again.. Looks like the Ice melt is slowing. It's made gains on the 2007 minimum now *fingers crossed it stays that way* http://www.natice.noaa.gov/ims/images/ims_data.jpg
  6. Cool, I shall go and have a look at that. At a guess is it arguments about whether Global Warming is happening or whether it is just a conspiracy?! lol Where is Joe laminate floori these days? He predicted we'd be getting a lot cooler last year didn't he? laminate floori??? Is Joe B-a-s-t-a-r-d-i a swear word too?
  7. @THE EYE IN THE SKY Indeed! Which makes me think we can't be that lucky yet again and have it three winters on the trot? All we can do is hope I guess as we can't possibly know right now. I do enjoy looking at the Snow and Ice Northern Hemisphere thread, I looked through last years thread (or it may have even been this years) where somebody had put the pics in that highlight how much more westerly the snow had come towards us over the last few winters, almost like a gradual procession west compared to previous winters in the early 2000's. Here's hoping there is some scientific reason behind it and it carries on this year! Or at least makes a gradual procession back over the next few winters if it has to!
  8. edit: Just noticed the forum obviously doesn't like swear words so it has converted t-w-a-t to angel delight! lol More of this please this winter!!! I recorded this in Sheffield 1st December at 7am with people eagerly walking to get to work on time. I think when you see the bus, if you listen carefully you can hear a woman across the road saying "look at that daft angel delight over there" referring to me filming the snow! Doesn't she know how how special it all was!! lol I then recorded this about 8:30 when it got heavier, think it was the same day. I remember thinking I had only see snow fall this heavy maybe once before in my 32 years so I had to capture it.
  9. Thanks for that BFTV.. New to all this. Although I did follow last years thread as a lurker. Not a good sign that we are below 2007 in terms of Ice total I imagine?
  10. Was going to post this morning's but imagine CH will be on it soon so don't wanna step on toes! One thing I have noticed from this mornings pic is that we may have a few more yellow pixels than yesterday? It is miniscule I think if it is increasing, is it normal to have a few increases and then descreases in the ice? I imagine so as the difference does look tiny. Or is it a case that the ice will generally always decrease to a point and then once we see the first extra yellow pixels it continues on that vein? I noticed the IMS Total Ice 3 day mean is once again the lowest it has ever been, even more than 2007. Only ever so slightly though. Actually scrub that, looks like the ice is still decreasing after double checking...
  11. Sorry I'm a noob when it comes to charts but is there really a site that has these charts alway out to December? Do you have a link please and thanks to so I can look at them?
