And isn't it wonderful that we all have these little quirks that make us all different. I personally don't start looking for the increase in daylight until we hit Spring. I love the Winter months for the cosy feeling you get with the long nights. I actually look forward to the drive to work (I work night shifts) when I can leave home at 4.30pm and drive all the way in complete darkness. Especially if its cold/foggy/snowy/icy.

I do feel sorry for those who suffer with S.A.D, and can't enjoy those wonderful, long Winters nights. For me it really is "the most wonderful time of the year"!

Can we please please please stop the guilt tripping in regards to peoples weather preferences! All weather types can be dangerous to human life... All of them! The needless little digs serve nothing, and are never going to change the weather which, NOBODY has any control over.

Now that the record temp has been broken. I'm ready for the cool down.... Roll on Autumn!

It's possible. It depends on a lot of factors of course. But it could swing the other way as well, with anomalous warmth in the Arctic, it could force the cold into the lower latitudes, giving us a colder than average Winter. It will be interesting for sure. Also a little concerning as well, if truth be told.

That's fine, it is Summer after all. I seem to be one of the lucky few who can enjoy all weather types during all seasons. Going to enjoy the next few days with BBQs and trips to the beach.

Tonight sees the first 39 minutes of true darkness return down south. On a sliding slope now, losing two to three minutes of daylight per day, back to the full glories of Autumn/Winter.

I get the feeling that for this Autumn/Winter we are in for something very different. Just judging by the way the climate seems to be at the moment, I just get this niggling feeling that what is to come is going to be beyond prediction. Whether that is very cold or very mild is to be seen. But something is not quite right in the atmosphere in my humble opinion.

Another year where we approach Mid-Summer and some of us might be dreaming of that slow decent into Autumn/Winter. What are your thoughts for the upcoming season? Personally, like every year, I will be looking for a short continuation of the summer into September. Once we hit October though, the thoughts of hard frosts and chilly nights are the stuff of dreams. And then November... Another 2010 perhaps? As always, I look forward to your thoughts. P.S. Kudos for the first "this threads too early" post. The winner last year was @I remember Atlantic 252 at only 26 minutes!

Only 6 weeks until true night returns. I do love the summer, but the date that true night returns is the date that I start the countdown to Autumn/Winter. Getting a little exited just thinking about it!

Had some light rain this morning. The main band has missed us so far, but it looks like we'll get hit harder after 7ish.

We're not going to start questioning peoples preferences again are we? He likes the Autumn/Winter, get over it!

My football team are doing terrible, the government are a shambles and are on the verge of throwing the country to the dogs. And now the weather is starting to take a turn for the worst! Come on God, what are you playing at?!
