    Personally, I'm ready for spring now. Looking for the first mid-teen temps, which are obviously no-where to be seen on the models at the moment! Need that Jet Stream to start heading north again.

    Wholeheartedly disagree with this thread. In an ever-changing situation, like it has been over the past few days, I think the Met Office has done a fantastic job in keeping people informed. It's nigh-on impossible to predict the exact path that snow will follow, so for them to get it more or less spot on is fantastic. Issuing 'Red Warnings' as a precaution is plain stupid! It leads to the 'crying wolf' situation, and can endanger life in the future, if the masses ignore future warnings because 'Red Warnings' are given out Daily Express style!

    Looking to me like it's starting to pivot west. Been watching the last few frames over and over, and it definitely seems to be moving the wrong way for us.

    Boring! For an Easterly, this current cold spell has been very mundane in my location. Wish I was in Scotland, now there's some proper epic weather!

    Need the winds to come from a slightly more northward direction. All that snow hitting London at the moment is just a couple of miles north of me!

    It's been great here, yesterday & today. But for once I would love to be in the sweet spot! I want to feel the full force of that low tomorrow or Friday, or give me all that snow they have on the East cost of Scotland! I want the epicness, not sloppy seconds!

    The sun is my enemy at the moment. Had a good 3/4cm of laying snow. Every time the sun shows its face the snow melts rapidly!

    Finally got some laying snow! Only 1cm for now, but looks like the radar is pepping up a bit. Need a bit more of an easterly direction and it will be boom time for me!

    Yes, but most of that stuff will fizzle out the further inland it travels.

    I'm in here unfortunately. Could see by the way the Beeb and Met Office were wording things today that the winds were not going to be favourable for my location. Just a little bit too far west. Being in the Amber zone just means that the Met are covering their bases, doesn't mean you're guaranteed anything.

    From my personal point of view, they have both chopped and changed things about over the past couple of days. Met Office seemed to have over-hyped this spell a bit though, so it looks like the Beeb are the more trustworthy at the moment.

    After this cold spell/snap/flop, whatever you want to call it is over, I think I'll be ready for spring. Start looking for that first +20*c spell.

    Should have a SE moaning thread, I feel bad having a moan in here bringing the mood down! But here it goes: This spell has been watered down over the past week. Was just looking through the old SE thread, and looking at some of the Met Office forecasts from a few days ago. I thought we were in for an epic cold spell! What has happened? A few cms of snow and a couple of days just below freezing doesn't do it for me unfortunately.
