  1. Even though your're probably right, you can't say that for certain until after the event.
  2. Like I said earlier. This doesn't sit right with me. I hope this doesn't go tits up!
  3. This is from the Met Office for our region tonight: This Evening and Tonight: Very cold with a brisk and bitter easterly breeze and temperatures falling quickly below freezing.Scattered snow showers will develop giving slight accumulations by daybreak in the east but more isolated in the west. Minimum temperature -3 °C. I thought this was suppose to kick off tomorrow night?!
  4. Although I'm almost smack bang in the middle of the amber warning for Tuesday, I can't help but have this nagging doubt that things are going to go the way of the pear! Logic tells me that the chances are I'm going to get a pasting. But I've heard enough horror stories of people being in Amber and even Red warnings and getting F' all! God please let this be an epic spell!
  5. I'm actually quite disgusted by some of the comments in this and the other thread over the last couple of pages. From calling out the more knowledgeable posters because the models have changed slightly, by people who add nothing to the forum at all, to people moaning about an apparent southern bias which is absolute nonsense. No-one who posts in the MOD thread, or any other thread for that matter, is under any obligation to post for everyone elses convenience! Last time I checked, the Model thread was not a 'weather forecasting thread'!
  6. Exactly. My Missus takes the C2C from East Tilbury. Would be great if it could give us a miss for a few days!
  7. Yes, the graphics they used didn't look great for the far South East, but I still think we'll do fairly well in South Essex/kent this week.
  8. Can you post the link please abbie. The last weather vid I can find on the BBC website is 7 hour old.
  9. We'll see what the weather will bring. I'm still confident that the low will correct further south nearer the time. Until then though, we have a weeks worth of fun to get through, so lets enjoy the next few days without worrying about when it's all going to go Pete Tong!
  10. Hopefully, if the track of that low is correct, we would have had so much snow by then we'll be glad to see the back of it!
  11. Just as many toys being throw out in this thread as in the other. Definition of hypocritical!
  12. I don't often post in the regional thread, but I think this occasion definitely requires me to keep an eye in here. I will be working in Hertfordshire on Sunday & Monday night, which means I'll be commuting around the M25 from South Essex and through some rural roads at silly hours in the morning. I've had to do it before in 2009 & 2010, and I have to say, the M25 on both of those occasions was an absolute nightmare! What makes it worse, are the people who have no idea of the dangers of driving in heavy snow. Seen too many snow related incidents in my time due to idiot drivers.
  13. It's been this way since the site started. It was like that on the old BBC Snow Watch forum too! It's why most people visit. The chase is sometimes just as good as the actual outcome! It would be rather boring if you just had one or two guys posting a weather forecast everyday wouldn't it?!
  14. Guys, please tell me what you're celebrating?! Nothings changed! Just another variation of the cold spell that's coming next week!
  15. In my opinion, if I wanted to be cautious, I wouldn't visit this site, I would just visit the BBC/Met Office site. I want ramping and excitement. I want members digging out the coldest and snowiest perturbations. If you don't want to be dissapointed, get your weather news from the pro's!
  16. There is (regardless of what some say in this thread) a cold/very cold spell on the way. How cold/snowy is still to be seen. But coming into this thread, there seems to be loads of members preying for it to fail so they can play their 'told you so' bit. And then they have the audacity to complain about the members in the MOD thread when they themselves contribute f all to the site!
  17. Looks like the 'told you so's' are waking up . What happened to the good old days, when people came on here to discuss the weather and not each other?!
  18. Last 5 posts ^^^^^^ Edit: Sorry to those just above this post. That was aimed at all the UKMO winner/fail posts.
  19. Yep, lets close down the forum. Everybody just visit the Met Office website once a day to see the weather for the next 24 hours. No point in coming here and viewing the models as it's a waste of time!
  20. I do wonder if people come to this forum not realising its a weather forum, and complain about others discussing the weather!
  21. It was, but you have to hope. I've had to watch everyone North of me get snow this Winter. Then everyone south get a sprinkling. I've had ziltch! Getting a bit frustrating now. Who do I write my letter of complaint too?
